So is what you saying that the rich, who provide homes that others live in, provide businesses that provide jobs for others should get poorer and the poor who financially contribute nothing and often don't work at all... should get rich?

Are you saying we should all be the same? Didn't they try that in Russia, China and Nth Korea?
Yes theyve done that in several countries including the ones youve listed,i know youll use N koreas poor leadership and economic woes to try and prove your point but remember its an equal economic society thats been supporting the u.s for the past 10 years(china)..Those countries ask for nothing because they are doing just fine..You're speaking as any brainwashed sheep would, you've learned, through government controlled sources, that socialism is a tyranny when in reality its nothing like that..It only affects free markets and better priotizes government funding/spending.You'd still make the same amount of money if not more..

My opinion, of course is formed by my own experiences. I was raised blue collar american, I was taught to work for my own, and make due with what little I have. But when what you have is not enough, then what? We made just enough money last year to be just above the poverty line, we are SOL with getting any help. It makes me angry to know that my drug addict aunts get a total free ride from welfare, and have their entire adult life. I never wanted a free ride, just a bit of help. I know hard working single mothers that work night shifts, and are forced to leave their children with family such as their mother during the day, and these family members spoil the kid, let them do what they want, eat what they want etc etc. They can not afford daycare, and the government refuses to help people that are busting their asses to try to make it. WHY? Why is it illegal aliens, drug addicts get a free ride, while the lower middle class can't get any help whatsoever? Makes no sense to me. My situation, we made a plan, and stuck to it while we could. We took out a mortgage, and were renivating our house on sundays, while working 8-12 hours a day monday through saturday. The plan was for us to pay it off in 15 years, fix it up, then sell it. My father(also my boss, we had a 2 man small contractor business), was going to get 3/4(approx 300,000) from the sale and retire in 5 more years. I would get 1/4 and be able to go to college or start my own business. Was going well until the real estate bubble popped, and there was no work coming in. We were perfectly willing to bust our asses to make the plan work. Long story short, we lost the house that was more than half, less than 3/4 paid for.

THAT is Capitalism combined with a joke of a social safety net.

They've got you thinking that social safety nets are terrible things because it only goes to "blacks, druggies, lazy bums, and [insert prejudiced label here]". The reality is, YOU would be getting help too if it wasn't for Republicans fighting tooth and nail against the lower/middle class and Democrats being halfway Republicans without spines.

Capitalism is what keeps you slaving away all the time for consumer products that fall apart after no time, for cars and houses you never end up owning, for bills that never cease to stack up. Modern slavery is the same as the old slavery, except you have some fancier toys and a longer lifespan to work for.
