I did a quick search and I haven't seen this being discussed here yet. It's interesting and disturbing news.

A college student in California found an FBI bug/GPS tracker on his car. After posting asking for information about it online the FBI showed up to reclaim it. According to the agent the students friend was the one they were concerned with and the reason the student named Yasar Afifi was investigated. It's kind of unnerving that this is what the country has come to, taking the long way around the barn to clear people of being terrorists. There is no way of really knowing whether the FBI had real reason to go as far as they did so I can't comment, but this is sloppy work on their part anyhow.
You can read about it at the link below:

Edit: I wasn't quite sure where to put this so I tossed it in social issues it could probably belong to any number of categories mods can move it if need be. Also I'll comment on it more when I get home.

Hmm.. No opinions on this? Any opinions from ATS members of MidEastern origin or descent? Hate to be that guy that bumps his own thread, but I found this very interesting so I'm doing just that.

Ahh ok. Thanks I searched but none of those popped up. Mods can delete this if you will. Today was the first time I'd read about it.

Because they showed up at his door alongside the police and asked for it back?
Just sayin'.
