Do you trst what you see?
Do you know what you saw?
Don't be so sure! The brain interprets the visual in some unpredictable ways!

Mind bending optical illusions

Sometimes seeing isn't so sure!

I love some of these. I've seen a different version of the "brown colored tiles" one before and it's almost impossible to believe they are the same unless you cut them both out in photoshop yourself and compare them. I've seen long long arguments over it with people just refusing to believe they are the same color.

I love optical illusions and have a thread for them at my art group. Have aways been a fan of M C Escher - I have 2 framed prints in my home. Very cool posts - thanks!

Cool, I've seen some of those before but I never get tired of good design.

That is a fantastic collection of curiosities.

Ames room illusion

Ames window illusion

Got to love those built in assumptions we make day to day ....... every ambiguity must be resolved.

That first video is so cool! The shock when the ball thrower / catcher change places!
Do you know which TV program this is from? I vaguely remember seeing it before

Thanks OldDragger, I always enjoy seeing these, several of which were new to me. The cylinder with the gray and white checker board always blows my mind. Even seeing and checking it for myself in Photoshop still makes it blow my mind and seem unbelievable. It only leads credence for me to question what else is only perceived to be reality in my mind.

Here's another one that I found somewhere, possibly from another thread here.
