The Sons of Liberty fit your description as well, so do the SEALs, SAS, SBS, etc. (except the beheading)

The terrorists to fear are the ones in plain sight. Those guys that grabbed the planes wore no masks, carried no guns. The spies many nations have suffered with are also in plain sight. Suicide bombers sit in a car next to other people at traffic lights.

This hang-up many people have with masks is pointed the wrong way. People that wear masks want to be faceless and add to the terror, not hide for some cowardly reason. I venture to say that in every town in the U.S. (north and south) where the Klan held strong power the leadership was very well known.

Judges, Senators, policemen, doctors- many people of influence belonged. It's own power destroyed the Klan. arrogance

People that feel that power through intimidation does not produce elitism need to drop the bottle with a rubber nipple and take up a sobering brew. Brown Shirts, Klan, Fascists, rebels in every civil war and war of independence were the ��trash�� some posters refer to. This ��trash�� gave Americans liberty from British oppression, freed the slaves, threw off the Spanish and British yokes in country after country. This ��trash�� left Egypt with Moses, stayed at Valley Forge, manned the walls at the Alamo, breached the beaches on Guadalcanal and broke Hitlerian Europe, built every canal in the new world, built levees and roads, tamed rivers and conquered snow filled passes.

This is very interesting how people have the audacity to presume that they ACTUALLY know something regarding the greatest fraternity America has ever known. I will educate you regarding the real Klan.

1. The Fiery Cross- We light the Cross - with fire to signify to the world that Jesus Christ is the Light of the world. Where the Holy Light shall shine, there will be dispelled evil, darkness, gloom and despair. The Light of the Truth dispels ignorance and superstition as fire purifies gold and silver, but destroys wood and stubble. So by the fire of the Cross of Calvary, we cleanse and purify our virtues by burning out our vices with the fire of His Word. Who can look upon this symbol, or sit in its sacred Holy light without being inspired with a Holy desire and determination to be a better person?

I have read (can't remember where, sorry) that the cross burning is something the Scottish Highlanders use to do to call the clans to war. It was known as the Fiery Cross. They brought that tradition to the US when they immigrated pre-Revolution. Perhaps that's where the KKK got the idea to burn the cross?
