Well its the start of another week and lets start as we mean to go on.

Below is a video that I always seem to come back to because in the 7 minutes it is played it explains so much about life and how we perceive it at our time of youth. We forget that our elders have lived a few years before us and experienced the same events as us, we think we are unique to the 'turmoil' we live in at our time

Please spend 7 minutes of your life watching it and then let me know what you think and tell us

what would you add given that you know more than you did a few years back?

A couple of relevant quotes from the above video

Do not worry about the future, or worry but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum

the race is long and in the end, its only with yourself

be nice to your sibblings, they are you best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future

If day to day life is ever getting you down please please please watch this video and realise that the way you perceive life at the time in question will change significantly once you allow yourself a little time to move on.

Relaxation is the key

Peace

FSF

People on ATS say that Sunscreen gives you cancer.

Be careful of who's advice you follow,

That made me chuckle.

A good song though, i remember it when it came out originaly.

I wonder what others here would advise if they had to add to it?

CX.

I had a feeling someone was going to say something along those lines and it had to be you woodwardjnr

Indeed but given that the above video is full of nothing but inspirational motivation you can't go wrong its a win win for everyone

I have loved this since it came out.

It makes me feel happy accepting what is basically true.

Another that I like to hear from "Arthur", a kids cartoon on ABC2 in Oz

Every day when you're Walking down the street, Everybody that you meet Has an original point of view. And I say - Hey! (Hey!) What a wonderful kind of day If we could learn to work and play And get along with each other.

Arthur theme song

Even though it is tv, the fact that my 6yo sings along with it give me hope that something may stay with her from it.

Thank you for giving me another reason to smile

MM

Edit to S&F in the hope to bring it more attention, because I think it will be appreciated widely here.

Now thats a good question CX I would add:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Everyday is a new beginning

Relax

Don't assume that because you voted in your government they will support
you along your way

Think about yourself before you help others

Swith off the television - for it will only heed your education

Get plenty of sleep for when you wake up you are ready to carry on your journey

Be polite

Listen to what your parents tell you, don't forget they were young once

Dance!

Thanks for adding to the thread there MissMegs, the more uplifting videos the better. I agree wholeheartedly, everyone needs that little pick me up especially at this time.

I am going to try and produce something uplifting each week just to make a small chink in the armour of negativitiy that seems to engulf this site at the moment.

  • Know when to stop.
  • Perfection is achieved not when there's nothing left to add, but rather, when there's nothing left to take away.

I think the best advice I had was given was , if you want to be interesting you have to be interested.

It's not ground breaking stuff but has served me well.

Thats a good one woodwardjnr,

Given all the fear mongering on this site I would add:

Take each day as it comes and don't look in to the future as none of know for certain what lies ahead

Thank you. I really enjoyed that.

My adds would be:

Cuddle your kids more when they're little.... when being in your arms is the best place in the world for both of you.

Sarcasm is really hurtful, even when you THINK you're being funny.

Compliments are free... hand them out regularly.

ALWAYS take the time to personally thank people when they've done you a good turn... even when it's something small.

I can try to make it worse.

We are all going to die.

Now I will try to make it better.

So it really doesn't matter if you screw things up.

I have always found the lyrics of this song by Baz Luhrman to be very inspirational.

EnlightenUp,

Would you suggest Ï change it to "three dollar bill" then? (to make make look less stupid and all...)

I appreciate the effort in trying to make me look less clueless
..... My intentions were good though...

Peace

PS: sorry for the off-topic, mods.

I know, I know you do. I am rather elated at the breakthrough that I just had in determining my life's purpose. I thank you for helping me find it! My speech patterns help others boost their self-confidence ("at least we're not like that").

Peace

Peace in, peace out.

PSPS: Oh EnlightenUp, did you check out my new signature?

Thank you. I just did. Was that wise to direct me there?

Add one: Don't take no wooden nickels.
