I know nothing about economics, which is a deficit I take full responsibility for. I have a learning disability visa-vi mathematics, and an aversion to math and money as a result. Having always been poor also contributes to it that mentality. So I can't honestly say I fully understand all of the information presented.

What I do understand on an intuitive, common sense level however, is that it is now apparently self-evident that the smallest tip of the pyramid - so to speak - has plundered the majority of its foundation's wealth for decades, and continues to do so at a steadily increasing rate.

What will happen when there's nothing left to take?

You mention "disaster capitalism" but in fact the merger between corporation and state is the definition of fascism, not capitalism. The blooming welfare state in the US is socialism. So, it does not make sense to me why you'd use the term capitalism when the US is not even considered an economically free country by the most complete investigator of the subject, the Heritage Foundation.

"Capitalize":
1. To use as or convert into capital.
www.thefreedictionary.com...

Like "capitalize' on a scenario or situation. They say that in competitive sports I believe.

The word "capitalism" in the phrase "disaster capitalism" refers to free markets, free travel, free trade, and minimal government business regulations. Google "disaster capitalism" for more information. You'll see right away that the idea of lower business taxation (free trade) is attacked vigorously and immediately by anybody who mentions "disaster capitalism" as though the ideas capitalism have been adapted and used for evil, which of course is ridiculously incorrect.

So again, "disaster fascism" is a more appropriate term, especially when describing what happened after 9/11. (ref The Lone Gunman, season 1 episode 1 for crystal clear explanation of how disaster fascism works).

The idea that globalization is to blame for the current economy could not be more wrong if it tried. Again, what is to blame for the current economy is the government: excessive regulations, terrible economic policy especially by the Federal Reserve, and above all the percentage increase in the spending/GDP ratio by the government. The combined government spending reaches half the size of the economy, which as will be proven soon is absolutely lethal to a formerly capitalist and now socialist-fascist economy.

"Blooming welfare state?" What planet are you living on? The number of people receiving benefits has shrunk from nearly 6 percent in 1994 to a bit over 2 percent today.

You're EXACTLY the kind of person I was talking about in my post. It's too bad people are so ignorant. They can be easily manipulated. And frankly, you obviously have been.

BTW, the Heritage Foundation is a right wing joke. It was started by an ultra-right wack, Paul Weyrich, in the 1970s.

Regarding welfare, you think the Obamacare health system isn't welfare? Social Security? Medicaid? Medicare? And those are just the federal programs. See the proof of US welfare programs at this link:
www.usdebtclock.org...
109 trillion is a trivial number for you? So what would be a decent welfare state then? 1 Quadrillion in welfare debt?

Maybe less than 1% of people are getting social security as you imply (since you said total of 2% are getting welfare), but I think you are mind-bogglingly way wrong by like a factor of 10 or so, and even if you are not, it wouldn't change the fact that trillions of dollars we don't have are being spent on these welfare programs.

And more importantly, when I say "welfare" I am talking both personal welfare and corporate welfare. I'm talking about the 6 trillion dollars handed out to banks over the last two years. If that wasn't welfare I don't know what is. You aren't going to tell me corporations are not getting big welfare checks are you? No. Because they are and that is a welfare state, so admit it.

The welfare state is what will bankrupt the USA within 10 years and the UK within five years. Welfare will destroy this country(USA) by the year 2025 and that is being as conservative as you can get. The UK could drop by 2012 causing a domino effect.

I do study economics and that is why I know capitalist policies as defined by free trade, free travel, and minimal government regulations eliminate the worst poverty and even give people a chance to become rich if they want that. All the data support very a pure capitalism with almost no regulations, trade barriers, and travel barriers.

I'm not going to accept your mudslinging on the Heritage Foundation because have to deal in facts, and refuse to play politics with you. If you think there is something wrong with the study you point out which of their data collection methods are faulty and the correct way they should be using.

They have the most objective and comprehensive study on capitalism in the history of the world in the form of the Economic Freedom Index. It *may* not be a masterpiece, but its at least quite an exceptionally well done study... hands down easily the best.
Here is the study FYI: www.heritage.org...

Even if the study were done by kkk neonazis it wouldn't change the fact its the best and its very good. Hopefully you can get past politics and look into that valuable study by the Heritage Foundation.

Get over it already. Everything is always about "the elite" or "TPTB" like "they" are some super-powerful alien race (gasp) that controls everything and everyone.

The big news flash is that it's all the conspiracy crowd members who whine and complain about how horrible their life is and how little a chance they have, when really ...if you have the internet, you are SO MUCH BETTER THAN SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE OUT THERE!

Wake up! There's nothing so disgusting than to see people acting like scared caged animals.

What would the world be like if everyone grew up figured they were controlled by "the elite"? Nobody would try to become anything, figuring they are already beaten. What a bunch of losers the world would be populated with.

Instead, there are plenty of people who do work hard and become innovators. There are wealthy people who give large sums of money to charity. When they don't, they re-invest it into their own companies to give more people the opportunity to get a job...but I guess YOU'D call that slavery!

Seriously this is madness. Get over yourselves. The world can be your pathetic pity party or your chance to try. Tomorrow's leaders certainly won't be playing the victim figuring they were not given a chance.

Appreciate what you have and stop complaining!

If you'd care to debunk that an all out economic war is being waged to plunder us that would be fantabulous!

You'd be the very first one at this juncture to even try as a matter of fact.

Now if you can't, all of your peachy smug innovation etc is near its end.

Will even one person try to debunk the premise of this thread?

Seriously, this is how you view conspiracy theorists? This shows your level of intellect quite clearly. Of course those in first world countries have it better than most. THAT'S A GOOD PART OF THE REASON WHY WE FEEL COMPELLED TO SPEAK OUT AGAINST THE ELITE !!

Wake up! There's nothing so disgusting than to see people acting like scared caged animals.

Oh my, you think that the conspiracy theorists are like this? How imperceptive you are.

This is one of the most illogical statements I've ever come across. If everyone realize we're being had, it would no longer be the case. The power ultimately lies with the numbers, with the people (at our current and previous progression) , and this is actually the reason for our "whine and complain" .. it's that we do our best to wake everyone else up, yet they refuse to see, but if they did, we'd not even be in this continued set of circumstances at all ..

Instead, there are plenty of people who do work hard and become innovators. There are wealthy people who give large sums of money to charity. When they don't, they re-invest it into their own companies to give more people the opportunity to get a job...but I guess YOU'D call that slavery!

I wonder if you even realize that a lot of these rich people's "charities" are nothing of the sort. Not to say that there are not influential people out there who do benefit humanity, but that the means through which they come to such an ability ... playing the system, ultimately does much more harm than good. It's simply short-sighted folks like yourself which fail to realize this.

Seriously this is madness. Get over yourselves. The world can be your pathetic pity party or your chance to try. Tomorrow's leaders certainly won't be playing the victim figuring they were not given a chance.

Okay, basically what you said was to integrate into a psychopathic-valued system, and be happy with the crumbs that's offered to the good-willed majority.

Thanks for the warning (visual aid overload). That was a lot of visual aids. You found some very interesting conclusions.

It's time for American's to take back our country from the welfare state. We won't do this by rioting, picketing, protesting or complaining. We can do this by reminding our friends and neighbors of the Pride which we once took in ourselves as American's. Proud American's work hard, provide for their families, (pay their taxes), care for their property, invest in their future, and if there is anything left over it might get donated to the local homeless shelter or something like that. Only by working together can American's regain the hope for the future that we once had. Pride. Hope. Patriotism. These are the ideals that we have sacrificed. These are the ideals that will see us through the dark times to come. Teach them to your children and encourage your friends before it is too late.
