Synchronicity: the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that can't be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer.

Examples:

~An old friend pops into your mind right before they call you out of the blue

~You dream about something that manifests itself in your life the next day

~You keep seeing clusters of certain numbers such as 11:11 or 333

Synchronicity is a term that was coined by C.G. Jung in the 1920's. Jung dove deep into synchronicity research when seemingly unrelated events were coming together in a meaningful manner.

For me, when a synchronistic event occurs in my life, a feeling of something deeper arises in me. An unmistakable knowing that there is something going on outside of our everyday perceptions. An undercurrent of meaning, order out of chaos that lets me know that there is so much more to life than we have been told. It feels like I catch a quick glimpse at how interconnected we all truly are.

Recently I have been extremely focused on synchronicity. I have read books, blogs, and articles on the phenomena. As always I have found that whatever you focus your conscious awareness on, expands. I am starting to see more and more strange occurrences. The more I talk and read about it, the more I see and it has been quite amazing.

So here is what I am going to do. I will catalogue all of the synchronistic events in my life on this thread in the hopes that I will see more because I am focusing on it.

I hope others will join in and share amazing stories based on their own experiences with this fascinating phenomena. Maybe you will start to see more of it too! I will start with one of the cooler ones I have read about in my travels and post new ones that happen to me in the future.

Actor Anthony Hopkins recounts a bizarre case of double coincidence. Several years ago when he heard he'd landed the leading role in a film based on the book _The Girl from Petrovka_ by George Feifer, he tried to get hold of a copy but couldn’t find one in any of London’s major bookstores. Waiting for a train at Leicester Square he thought he was hallucinating when he glanced at a discarded book lying on the bench beside him . . . The Girl from Petrovka. The coincidence didn't end there. On set in Vienna later that year Hopkins met the author, George Feifer, who lamented the fact that he no longer had the one and only annotated copy of his book as he'd lent it to a friend who’d lost it in London. Yes, the book Anthony had found was his.

Awesome thread. This is one of those every day things that you forget about. Such as a dream but by 9AM you have forgotten all about it. Mine is strange. I was actually thinking about a friend from childhood and 3 days later I saw him in a casino in Las Vegas. I thought that was strange like I thought about it and it happened.

I was just about to post a thread about synchronicity, when this one appeared at top of the "recent posts" thread.

I call this story the "Roll Purple"

I was taking a trip to Las Vegas, so I took a nap. I had a daydream, really vivid in where it was black except for a circle about 50 feet from me, there was fire all around what sounded like "staggered thunder". Another sound kind of like a womens voice, synthesized, metallic sounding, but NOT like "autotuning" (TPain) somehow "came through" all the noise and it sounded like "ROLL PURPLE". A flash of light/plasma light flash way off in the distance, as it came closer I could see it looked like the most amazing geometrical patterns that were constantly changing and getting closer and more vivid, when it reached the fire I heard the voice again but this time it sounded like it was slowing down saying "RRRROLLLLLLL PURRRRPLE" when the voice ended i woke up and thought it might have something to do with Vegas and that I should look for a game with purple in it. I didn't think much of it as I had more important things to do, like get on a plane for a long plane ride.

We all arrive at the hotel in Vegas, we are all hungry and tired. We decide to find a mid priced buffet to eat at. One of the Casinos was doing a deal where they would comp you 1 meal a day if you signed up with their "club card" or whatever those scanable cards you see people walking around with there. So we go grab our plates and stand in line among the hundreds of other smucks waiting to get free meals. I load up my plate with all kinds of foods, it looks good and smells great (especially after smelling JP8 all day). I get to the end of the line, my friend moves out of the way and i look down and there is a huge basket of PURPLE BREAD ROLLS! I turned white as a sheet and dropped my tray of food. Everyone turned to look as it made huge noise, some people laughed, others whispered under their breaths. I got embarrassed with all those people looking at me, normally I don't care. Some how it felt as if they all knew my dream and they were just waiting for it to happen...

This is the best I can explain it.

I've got one from about 20 minutes ago actually.

Was dreaming about my boyfriend, and he called. LOL
I know..not THAT exciting.. but seeing as his phone has been out for the past 3 days, and it's only about the 3rd dream i've had of him..(after dating for over a year) *i* thought it was cool.

*looks* HahaHA! 3 days...3rd dream.. is that Synchronicity as well? I could post some of the cool crazy things that have happened in the past, but i'll just go forward from here.

I've had loads of great synchronicities, some are posted here already somewhere, others are too long.

Quick one - One day I went toa DIY store and they had Alan Parsons Project playing over the speakers- "I am the eye in the sky looking at you-oo, I can read your mind."

Hearing that song took me back years and years to an old friend of mine who used to play that all the time and even made me a copy which I played to death too. He'd moved to the States and I hadn't seen him for about 12 years. Next day he phoned and came for a visit. He was back in Scotland for a holiday.

I woke up too early one morning, about an hour before I had to get up for work. Back then, my car had no air conditioning, and I left my windows down all of time it wasn't raining.
Well, I got up to get a drink of water, and heard something outside. I looked out the front window, and a dog was messing around the trash can at the street. I got a potato out of the pantry, opened the door and threw it at the dog, scaring it off.
I went back to sleep.
I had a dream. I was walking and I came across a cat. I bent down to pick it up, and it had a third eye in the center of its head. The cat spoke to me. It said, "if you are going to take me, take my friends as well". I noticed there was a couple more cats, so I picked them all up and began walking again.
Then, I alarm rang, and woke me up.
I got up, got dressed, got in my car, started it, put it in reverse and turned to back out of the driveway.
There was a cat in my backseat looking right at me. Calmly observing my near heart attack.

Wow, a bunch of great synchronicities already!

Purple rolls was a funny one. Never seen or heard of a purple diner roll in my life, only in Vegas I guess.

And Stewie, I would have had a heart attack as well if I looked back to see a cat silently watching me. Almost like "hey your dream was real buddy."

Great stuff.

My gf actually just reminded me of the crazy synchronicity she had last night. My mother was showing her some old albums and newspaper clippings from my highschol days just yesterday. They found one clipping that was from her highschool which hilighted one of her good friends from H.S. for a sporting event. They thought it was weird but realized that was the back of the clipping that my mom had cut out of me. We went into Boston last night for a friends birthday and she ends up bumping into her friend from the clipping that she hadnt seen or talked to in 10 years.

We were telling our skeptical friend about synchronicity and what had just happened and he was like, "no way, thats just coincidence." As he said that someone from a crowd of people says "John?" and he bumped into someone he hadnt seen since highschool. They had some small talk and when they finished he came back and was like "ok guys you got me, im a believer." He had just thought of this girl the day before and it really freaked him out.

Funny stuff starts happening when you start exploring synchronicity.

Not so much anymore, but maybe a year ago, for a period of three years, whenever in the morning or afternoon, I would look at the clock probably 9 out of the 14 times in a week when it would say "9:11".

Whenever "around" that time of day, I would think to myself that it would be exactly that time...which it was.

I don't have any connection with that number besides the same that any other American would have.

Maybe I was just very good at predicting the time based on events around me - IDK.

I believe it was last fall, I had been listening to whale and dolphin songs, and meditating, and was doing dishes, when I felt a very strong connection, with a whale for an hour at least, I had to stop doing the dishes for it was incredible. He was a very old soul, I nicknamed him obi one. He showed me an underwater world filled with family and heros, and spiritual. He didn't share the psi world they have, but I now they're very psi and almost see them as creating a magical kingdom. They also have ties to us, like family, some are very much our family. Strong deep vibrant connection. Afterwards I was bemused by this, thought the songs were affecting me. The next morning a friend from South America, who's energy had drawn me, someone most people been critical of on ATS, commander Ly-on, wrote to me, he had never wrote on msn, only the occasional email, first thing in the morning and said to me, "you speak whale", to which I was in shock and said, "well I kind of had an unusual experience the day before" and he said he knew and it had been arranged.

Strange coincidence. I don't believe in coincidences though.

I've quite a few.

I have a thread on manifesting and manifested hearts in the clouds when it was a very stormy sky with pink and swift moving black sheet of clouds overtop in part. I didn't start with an easy project, I've never seen hearts fill the sky before. White and pink ones, no black ones at all.

syncs are the syntax of reality.

I've had lots of syncs, mostly double-digit numbers. A recent sync was thinking about a co-worker, whose mother is supposedly a psychic. I assume she is also but she won't admit it. Then after a few days of working this temp job gig nearby, I saw her walking around the block and thought to myself that's got to be her. Then she went down my aisle later on and I surprised her. Small world, indeed.

In one of the books I read the mentioned the 911 phenom as a sign pointing to troubled times ahead in a few cases they documented. One man saw 911 everywhere he looked for about a month and then his father passed and it stopped suddenly. Kind of like a 911 call had been right in his face the whole time, i believe it was before 9/11 so he took it as the emergency number. Can you recall anything like that happening in sync with your sync?

Did ommander Lyson give you any more information other than "it had been arranged?"

Synchronicity has become quite common in my life, not a day goes by without something happening, almost like there are messages being sent, but they make no sense.
Like the other day, after having a tiff with my Girlfriend, while I was driving home, I thought to myself "man... when she is moody, she gets so extreme"
Not one minute later, a Van pulls out from a driveway and takes its time to speed up, forcing me to slow down.
The sign on the back door read "Extreme Cleaners"

So what's that tell me, am I being taken to the Cleaners?

What's really happening here? glitches in the Matrix? Universal guidance?
I personally have no answers, but it's great fun.

Funny stuff. I am reading a book now called the 7 secrets on synchronicity that really explores what they are an how you can use them to expand your awareness and see the bigger picture. Glitches in the matrix sounds like a pretty good explanation to me. They are all around and when you start looking more into them, watch out. It may surprise you how many glitches there are.

I was in barnes and noble last night waiting for my friend to meet me there. I was waiting forba half hour reading a book and I thought of my friend and how he must be late because of traffic leaving Boston at 5 pm and as I looked up from my book I realize I'm looking right at a boardgame called rush hour with a bunch of cars on the front stuck in gridlock.

I was reading this thread www.abovetopsecret.com... a little while ago, and saw the Iron maiden video. I saw this concert, and decided to look up the date. It was Sept. 11 1982. Scorpions BLACKOUT out, and Iron maiden Number of the beast. www.the-scorpions.com...

I then decided to search ATS for Iron maiden and found a thread posted by BLACKOUT.
Now I cant find the thread to post the link.

And of course there are references to 9-11 all over ATS

He normally wrote about advice, and that occasion not really, he doesnt give in depth information. But I'm never going to forget that, and we'd never even chatted on msm. He also knew when I was meditating and my frequency was very high, last December, and wrote with some advice. He seemed to know things ahead of time.

I keep seeing 2:22 and I brought it up to my gf when I checked the timehe She freaked out and said look at this text I just sent and her friend thought our address number was 22, my gf said "no it's 6," and her friend said "why do I keep thinking it's 22?"

We were like wow that was weird and I looked down at the page I was on in The Seven Secrets of Synchronicity, and I was on page 202.

Strange things happen when I read this book.

I also started using synctxt.com which assigns you to your own random number generator. When you stray from the standard deviation it selects a random message for you from the iching or a few other selections of proverbs. There are some amazing stories on the website so I figured I would give it a shot. I'll post any syncs here.
