As was revealed in the recent Washington Post article regarding the massive intelligence budget in the US, and its incestuous relationship with many corporations, including google - I determined to immediately change my default search engine.

To me, the use of MSM to create society is obvious - the MSM has been a tool of social engineering since its inception, and it now has no other use.

Those who wish to control our access to information, and skew our perceptions are co-opting the most popular search engine in the world. Using this relationship - they can totally control access to critical information.

For myself - I have immediately stopped using google as my primary search engine, I no longer trust it.

Linked below is a list of alternatives;

www.readwriteweb.com...

I have used the Gigablast engine, and it seems to work fine. I dont like its assertions of being 'green' - but it does seem to work.

Hey
Just wanted to drop my 2c in here on this topic, as it is something i have been aware of for quite some time.(google permanent cookies, profiling etc. etc)
I stumbled over this really nice alternative called "Scroggle "
www.scroogle.org...
And behold, looks like the scroggle site got some problems with the way google operates.
Well lots more info over there on how it works.

Have a nice day

Whist this doesn’t really look good i don’t think its a case of Google telling the CIA everything we are searching for on the web. Somebody else has a thread with a big list of firms who are doing work for US intelligence. I pointed out that if a company like Google was working with the CIA to spy on the public they would not have it disclosed in this paper. Rather i think it is much more likely that Google are supplying them with specialised search tools, just like dell provide them with PC’s and Windows with software. That said I have not trusted Google in quite some time but that’s for a whole other thread.

I use Scroogle alot too...they have been having problems off and on but they seem to be working them out.

I really hate the fact that the other day I was looking up real estate and with Google and it told me that the last time I had followed a particular link was almost a year ago.

If I don't need to know that information, why do they?

"They" don't need the internet to find out about any of us.

I'm sure data is stored in a more conveinment way now instead of the way it was stored in 1966 when I saw my FBI and GBI files.

There was way yoo much information for a sweet little southern girl of 19 years old. I'm sure there is a lot more information now as I only got more curious.

The moral of that story is that everything you say or do, well almost everything, gets to Big Brothers ears.

If you are not sqeeky clean and have nothing to hide that is a good thing.
Very dull life but still a good thing.

My policy is to trust no one and walk lightly among the dead.

What surprises me is how much our government agencies looks over and consider irelevent.

Oops, lost spell check program and am also under the influence of narcotics as i had surgery last night. Forgive errors please.

I usually don't worry about Google as it rarely takes me to the sites that provide the best search results.
Also, who would have the time in the intelligence community to scrutinize my web searches?
Even a data mining search has to be reviewed by human eyes and I'm either a low or "no" priority.

Now if I was a guy that they thought was screwing around w/ their wife...THEN I'd move up the food chain...LOL

HA!

www.prisonplanet.com...

Google has sensationally banned all sales through its shopping merchant of a DVD critical of the Obama administration under the terms of its program policy which bars any material deemed to be “advocating against a protected group”. Apparently, Google considers the government to be a “protected group,” and immune from criticism.

Here's one interesting search engine - WOWD

Facebook and MySpace and are all free information databases for those with large sums of money and the gov. all they have to do is say its in the interest of national security and anything they want is theirs for the taking. check the EULAs you've signed about who really owns what you've posted. and read up up laws that have been passed.

I too lost my trust in Google quite some time ago. Also in Microsoft, when I discovered that a normal Windows instillation takes a snapshot of your hardware and sends it back to M$.
Plus the secret NSA back door build into all versions of Windows since 98....

How NSA access was built into Windows

_NSAKEY

Here is my long time search engine...search.yippy.com...

if you get a really good spy stopper like spyshelter and turn off the preset sites. you can see that Microsoft if looking at every thing you do. and the call them Hooks! they put one in every new program. they log your keys and take screen shots. if you dont believe me try it. Linux is very good, but you still need fire wall and spyshelter and virus soft ware.
