White House is now Backpedaling from NASA's Tasks assigned by President Obama

Backpedaling at its finest. Mr. Bumbling Gibbs didn't miss a step in today's briefing of the press after a reporter asked him about the Assignments that NASA was asked to complete by Obama, especially the outreach to the Muslim World.

What was Gibbs response? Well it was a lot different from what Bolden has already admitted to on Al Jazeera. So who is lying here? I don't think it is Bolden. I think Obama now sees the outcry from the nation after such an admittance from the NASA head about the new direction the agency is taking under his own direct orders. Now all they can do is backpedal and then Deny Deny Deny Deny.

Though the damage has already been done and the public is already aware of the situation. Plus another thing that strikes me is that no other media outlet even covered this story.

So who covered the story which eventually led to the administration changing their stance on the issue? Exactly ponder that one for a bit.

Good Job to the only news outlet that covered this story and still is covering this story.

And look at the total absence of public knowledge on the topic — Sheesh, I'm the first reply after, what, three hours??

What first strikes me about this outrageous call from the Obama administration for NASA to "reach out" to Muslim nations in cooperative space research and exploration is the fact that the head of the Executive Branch of the U.S. Government is so goddamned concerned with reaching out to certain countries based on their dominant religion.

Doesn't this touch on, if not violate, the Separation of Church & State?

Why should we specifically reach out to Muslim nations any more than to, say, Hindu nations or Buddhist nations or — God forbid — Christian nations?

Well, I'll cut through all the coy postulation and call it what it is — Barack Hussein Obama is a fekking Muslim at heart and wants America to kiss the asses of Muslim nations.

Obviously that's what's going on, or else the White House wouldn't be disavowing the order now... What? H-Hey, we didn't tell Bolton to say that! He's whack on crack! Why would Barack Hussein Obama ever tell the NASA chief to reach out to Muslims? It's absurd!

Therefore, Bolton "misspoke" when he said he was TOLD by Obama to bury his nose as far up the asses of our enemies as possible.

Of course it does, in the U.S. In the 'Muslim world' (of which BHO is a part) there is no difference between the church and the state. That is why the "high mullah" is the leader and the president, parliament or prime minister ALL answer to the leader of the faith.

Do not expect the liberal media to do anything on this.

Think about the most pressing NASA issues today: global warming and Muslim inclusion. NASA is now nothing more than a political tool, it is completely separated from its original science mission.

How long will it be before we endorse a Muslim presence on the ISS, and before it becomes a target for extremists? That is not as far-out as it sounds. It seems to me like Obama was trying to do damage control to try to repair the picture of the U.S in the middle east, after, you know, you guys bombed the hell out of them.

To use NASA for building race relations after Obumbus cut off most of their funding and grounded future projects, laying of thousands of employees who he lied to about promoting their job growth and industry.

It's not offtopic, You tried to justify the war by saying it's because of suicide bombers, it's a very rare viewpoint on this forum. What I was saying is that Obama is doing this to make up for all the carnage we've caused in the middle east in the past decade, and is now packbeddling due to ignorance caused by people who think this is Obama trying to get muslims in space as some secret plot to make allah happy.

As you are so misinformed and really have real stance than continue on with your rant.

Its not about Muslims in space, Muslims have gone into space before. Where have you been? There was this malaysian fella who started the trend.

And as far as space and science go, persians & the famous sumerians have a rich history regarding this like many cultures.

Just look at what Iran has been able to with so many sanctions placed on it. So the muslim world does not need two timing chameleons like Obumbus giving them a hand, they are more than capable themselves.

In fact a majority of them probably would look at this reach out as pitty and brings shame upon the entire arab world for them to be accepting help of a nation Alla tells them to bomb.

None of us were there when they had their conversation.

There was clearly some sort of miscommunication here, and confusion over how it was reported by who and why. In one interview, the dude was pretty sure that he was "missioned" with this task, but again, are you sure this is what was said? No.

Misinterpretation of a conversation? Misinterpretation of a bit of a much larger conversation? Use your brains, people.

Could we spend a few hours and figure out the facts? Maybe, but only if we had a tape or transcript of the entire conversation. But it's much easier to just allow some media, both the professional and the hobbyists to lead you in the direction that is most emotional and most devoid of logic.

Have you been in slumber since he took office and enacted the policies that has driven businesses out of businesses, doctors into early retirement, and at the same grew the government more by any president since the days of FDR ?

Have you actually been paying attention to what this administration has been doing? Sueing Arizona, calling the Tea Partiers racist, blocking free speech in the spill zone, bowing to kings, annoying the Brits, attacking Germany for cutting government spending, the Black Panther mess, the police who "acted foolishly", not trying a muslim marine of terrorism after he started shooting military on a base. Any of this ring a bell?

Its a pattern, he obviously doesnt care for the US, and he shows it over and over again. Cut the funding of NASA then tell them to be nicer to muslims? Why not, its not the craziest thing this administration has done. Trouble for them is, this one upset people, therefore they had to retract and dance away from it so he can continue to pretend that everyone loves him and he is going to save the world.

On a different note, I really wish the White House would get rid of Gibbs and put a sock puppet out there, might save a little taxpayer money and I think the pupet would do a better job handling the media.

I wasn't implying muslims haven't been in space, and I never said I liked what Obama was doing, I'm saying that he's probably doing this to try to reachout to the countries they've been at war with, and sure, they'll probably think it's pity and this will probably increase muslim hatred of america.
It still doesn't mean that this is religious favoritism by Obama, which is what alot of people are saying it is.
