Couple believes U.S. is in distress and dying

While others celebrate America on the Fourth of July, Lou Ann and Warren
Parks of Byrd Road in Morganton want to send a message that the United
States is in distress.

That’s why, the couple says, they chose to fly the American flag upside
down and at half-mast in front of their home on the Fourth of July.

Lou Ann Parks explained, “The military says if there is distress, it is proper
to fly the flag upside down. Half-mast is due to a death. Our country is dying.”

someone sent me this in an e-mail and I went hunting
to find out if it was true, and it was.

This couple are also part of the local Tea Party.

I happen to agree with them.

Oh, yay...the upside down flag thing again. I won't spoil the fun and tell you how this is going to go I will say mine's been hanging upside down for 9 years now, though.

I been flying mine upside down for near a decade as well, including the 4th that is, when I'm not flying stars n bars. Am I bad? Why did I even bother wearing the uniform ti fight for the right of others BUT NOT ME for feedom of expression and speech? The country was founded on states rights and wrt the war o northern aggression, it had relatively little to do with slavery. Gee we're so much better off for it too, We can all agree on that, a-aight?
Do the math and follow the trends, the country is doomed and the 411 is the good guys aint gonna be the winnah! That the govt promises to start paying for health with money taken now means that they dont expect things to last til payback in 4 yrs...

How about going back to your other thread and give us some more pictures of poisnous rain affecting your parents garden? I would really like to study some of your topics and your comments but all you ever have is five or six lines of about twenty some words. LINKS , Opinion, facts, ssssssssssssssssomthing other than your drivvel

more than just a couple.. I and my wife believe the same.. and a whole bunch of other do too.. if you have not noticed..

I actually would say its dead and just in that transition time till ite pronounced dead and the cause of death is given.

In what ways is it believed our country is in distress? Is it meant economically, politically, socially? Please enlighten me.

i belive the answer to your question would be...economically, politically, and socially. look at America all three of those issues are not only distressed but falling completely apart in some cases. how could you even honestly ask that question

do you need some of the, literally, hundreds of examples? or will you just watch more msm for that?

I wish folks would quit doing this. Of course it did lead to several quite interesting conversations!

In my city, I have stopped at several peoples places because of this.

Quit flying your flag upside down if you do not need help.

my fellow atsers, I rarely reply to posts since I had my stroke, but I
have to try to express myself sometimes please be patient with me as I
try to express my opinion which I mam entitled to do It is very difficult to
get my thoughts to the keyboard so be patient if u wiull as I start to reply

At the moment I am not trying to disagree with anyone and I'm new to all of this and wish to learn and WAS in a sense asking for some those "literally, hundreds of examples"

A. look at the economy the past two years

B. look at the social unrest across the country. i.e tea parties, immigration issues, gay right issues, drug issues, socio-economic issues, ect. ect. ect. (do i need more for social unrest?)

C. look at the corruptions on ALL levels of our pollitical apparatus.

do an hour of research on each topic you mentioned and you will find, no doubt, hundreds of examples

I too agree with the couple. In my office at work I display a large flag on the wall upside down, for the same reason. It's a town office and I expected the Mayor to tell me to take it down when he saw it. Instead, when I gave him the explanation he agreed and nothing more was said. It's been that way for at least two years now.
