I agree with my buddy Whaa here! They will care when its affecting them.
And its a shame too really! Yet by that time its going to be to late..
Seems to be the thing with this world, people just don't give a damn until its right on their door step, and affecting them personally!

I have boycotted BP, and tried to talk others into doing the same..(Granted most BP stations are owned by small biz, so it really does not hurt the corp BP, however they are under the banner of BP, they are supporting a system that I have no desire to support.) Its a tuff one here. Its like BP is immune, and BP is the one hurting Small biz owners, not the boycotters.. If BP was on the up and up, we would have no reason to boycott them.)

Yet I have the same affect you had..
People are just creatures of habbit. And if it does not suit them at the time, then its like what ever...

I feel the empathy... And I feel sick when even thinking about what happened out there in gulf..
Its more than sad.. And the time is comming..

I feel you.. I really do.. Hang in there, and keep on being you!

Its good to know, some do care! And your willing to put it out there for others to know!!

If you look at history then you will know that whoever has the biggest 'stick' is the dominant power on earth. Right now that is the United States Military. Now we can debate all night long on whether they reign in righteousness. I say they do not. I do not need to give you proof, all you have to do is look around you. Their rule has fermented ignorance and insolance on such a grand scale that the majority of people are basically automatons. Individuality is scorned and mocked. Wisdom has been abadoned. They detain and kill any and all who do not conform to the image of what they think a 'citizen' should be. The law they create and uphold has nothing to do with what is right or wrong. Yet everything to do with what is 'socially' acceptable to maintain their reign.

Technology is their biggest strength, and yet it will be their downfall. One individual can usurp all the kingdoms and kings on this earth. With just one thought, the mightiest nation can be shattered beyond repair. You can not think like them, you can not hear like them, you can not talk like them, and you can not see like them. This you must do.

We are under the boot of a manipulator, whose strongest weapon is deception, and deflection. We went to the moon in '69 and you are going to try to convince me that the technology does not exist to free humanity from the incessant consumption of fossil fuels? We are controlled physically, mentally, emotionally, and finacially. Knowledge is THE only power! If you hold the knowledge and suppress it then think how much power you would have. They do this!

Communication is the key. You take a group of individuals and link them up. So that they can communicate no matter where they are in relation to each other, then you have a cohesive entity comprised of parts all working together for the whole. The collective objective. Destroy that, and they will fall apart.

In our time we have at our fingertips (literally) a weapon that no other people since the beginning of civilization has had. The Internet. There are more people in China using the internet than there are people in the USA! Knowledge is waiting for you! No longer do you need to go to college. You can learn ANYTHING with the internet if you look for it hard enough.

How vain are they! Their kingdom is like a tower that sits in darkness and a man happens upon it with a candle to guide him! All who sit in the kingdom see in darkness and rule the many outside the tower who live in the light. What will happen when the one who lives in the light, comes into their tower bringing the light with him!

so...what exactly do you want us to do?

run around with our arms flailing about?

bp gas stations are all independently owned and operated, a boycott on them would be a boycott on the local economy and livelihood, while having almost zero effect on the actual company.

if you want to do something productive, start taking matters into your own hands. get groups of reporters and locals and go cleanup the beaches, rig your shrimp boats into skimmers, and hookup with the local militias to escort you past the security.

local militias, you should all be "unsecuring" the beaches and public areas.

other than that, local communities should get on contact with the foreign aid vessels offering help, and get them into the gulf useing the militias if necessary.

i mean unless we show a bit of muscle they wont take us seriously, nor will anything happen.

and after its all said and done, everybody in the EPA involved should be burned at the stake, and anybody else in any agencies that turned away help. both foreign and domestic.

I have family in Tampa, and elderly aunt and uncle and a cousin. I asked them if they had their camper packed, fueled and ready to go at a moments notice. My jaw hit the ground when she asked "Why? Is there a hurricane coming?". I said "NO! Aunt Vic, I'm talking about the oil spill and the dispersants being used!" She said, "HUH?"

She had NO clue! She follows political news religiously yet had no idea how big a deal the oil gusher is. She says they just got their house paid off and they aren't leaving it just for the oil. What??? I told her to humor me and be ready to come here if it goes from really bad to so much worse! I made her promise at the first hint of evacuation they'd head out ahead of the crowds.

Sadly, I don't think they will.

I can see why you were so upset. That is so bad on that group and a waste of human spirit. Geez...what do they think is right...God or Jesus is not going to magicaly make all the oil, garbage and the effects of this oil spill , just go away.

Yes, but where do these franchises get their gas from? Exxon? Of course the BP business entity is seperate from the BP 'dirty jobs' industry. It's all legaleeze for 'we the left hand, are not responsible for what the right hand is doing.

Just thought this article was rather timely. It was posted on drudge but came from Wall Street Journal. Yah, yah, I know MSM and all that, but just read the article before you go off on a rant.

As the oil spill continues and the cleanup lags, we must begin to ask difficult and uncomfortable questions. There does not seem to be much that anyone can do to stop the spill except dig a relief well, not due until August. But the cleanup is a different story. The press and Internet are full of straightforward suggestions for easy ways of improving the cleanup, but the federal government is resisting these remedies.

First, the Environmental Protection Agency can relax restrictions on the amount of oil in discharged water, currently limited to 15 parts per million. In normal times, this rule sensibly controls the amount of pollution that can be added to relatively clean ocean water. But this is not a normal time.

Various skimmers and tankers (some of them very large) are available that could eliminate most of the oil from seawater, discharging the mostly clean water while storing the oil onboard. While this would clean vast amounts of water efficiently, the EPA is unwilling to grant a temporary waiver of its regulations.


Next, the Obama administration can waive the Jones Act, which restricts foreign ships from operating in U.S. coastal waters. Many foreign countries (such as the Netherlands and Belgium) have ships and technologies that would greatly advance the cleanup. So far, the U.S. has refused to waive the restrictions of this law and allow these ships to participate in the effort.

The combination of these two regulations is delaying and may even prevent the world's largest skimmer, the Taiwanese owned "A Whale," from deploying. This 10-story high ship can remove almost as much oil in a day as has been removed in total—roughly 500,000 barrels of oily water per day. The tanker is steaming towards the Gulf, hoping it will receive Coast Guard and EPA approval before it arrives.

In addition, the federal government can free American-based skimmers. Of the 2,000 skimmers in the U.S. (not subject to the Jones Act or other restrictions), only 400 have been sent to the Gulf. Federal barriers have kept the others on stations elsewhere in case of other oil spills, despite the magnitude of the current crisis. The Coast Guard and the EPA issued a joint temporary rule suspending the regulation on June 29—more than 70 days after the spill.

The Obama administration can also permit more state and local initiatives. The media endlessly report stories of county and state officials applying federal permits to perform various actions, such as building sand berms around the Louisiana coast. In some cases, they were forbidden from acting. In others there have been extensive delays in obtaining permission.

As the government fails to implement such simple and straightforward remedies, one must ask why.

One possibility is sheer incompetence. Many critics of the president are fond of pointing out that he had no administrative or executive experience before taking office. Another possibility is that the administration places a higher priority on interests other than the fate of the Gulf, such as placating organized labor, which vigorously defends the Jones Act.

Finally there is the most pessimistic explanation—that the oil spill may be viewed as an opportunity, the way White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel said back in February 2009, "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste." Many administration supporters are opposed to offshore oil drilling and are already employing the spill as atool for achieving other goals. The websites of the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth and Greenpeace, for example, all feature the oil spill as an argument for forbidding any further offshore drilling or for any use of fossil fuels at all. None mention the Jones Act.

To these organizations and perhaps to some in the administration, the oil spill may be a strategic justification in a larger battle. President Obama has already tried to severely limit drilling in the Gulf, using his Oval Office address on June 16 to demand that we "embrace a clean energy future." In the meantime, how about a cleaner Gulf?

Mr. Rubin, a professor of economics at Emory University, held several senior positions in the federal government in the 1980s. Since 1991 he has spent his summers on the Gulf.

I think the sheep are waiting for the lame stream media to tell them that this is a big deal and that they should be angry. this is the true conspiracy, think about it a huge Disaster, Death Suffering Destruction, bad news all around and the media is not capitalizing on it. People eat this crap up. Yes indeed. And sadly enough, these people refuse to see through the smoke and mirrors. I'd almost bet if you popped their heads open, all you would find is candy and coupons, and probably idle song lyrics. There are millions of us who are concerned, and we are trying to get the other Hundreds of millions on board

As I said the other day, the whole reason you guys have gotten yourself into such a bad position is because you just don't care enough. 95% of your population are brain dead robots that know nothing about anything, and believe everything they see on TV. I am sure this has been mentioned but the band Korn and other major artists are going to boycott BP.
The boycotting of BP is only going to hurt small business owners.
Putting oursmall business owners(service station owners) out of business will only hurt our already eradicating Economy.

Well, one did stay, the friend that invited me. He was very embarrassed by the actions of his fellow church members.

To answer your question, Yes, they do think God and/or Jesus are magically going to clean up the earth. They also put blame on BP and other "men" for destroying the earth but take little or no responsibility for being throw-away consumers that fuel businesses like BP.

The thing is, I was raised in a ultra strict Christian home/environment up until around 12-13, I swore off all religion especially organized for the rest of my life.

The last few years I've found myself becoming more tolerant of Christians in general. Well this incident knocked my views back quite considerably.

For any ATSers that are Christian please don't think I am trying to pigeon hole all Christians or bash them.

I am just sharing what I witnessed with my own eyes and ears and how I felt.

We don't have any other gas stations in AD except Adnoc, Dubai has a couple of different ones but all state run.

No BP, no Shell, no Exxon, etc. Still boycotting a single service station is only going to hurt the local owner, BP could give a rat's butt!

The real reason I am posting this is that if Korn(y) the "band" is boycotting BP stations I would double up on using them for everything from gas to rolly hotdogs to slurppies! korn?? they are pretty much of a washed up "band" anyway. They probably don't have enough money left to buy a bag of Fritos there anyway.

The citizens of the empire have lived as spoiled children never realizing that they are simply livestock bred to be consumers of the products stolen from colonized lands.

No one cares because they have been psychologically abused, disconnected from the spiritual side of life and dumbed down with heavy metals and frankenfoods.

As a parent I have been yelled at by zombies for telling my children “USE YOUR BRAIN!”.

Ask yourself why the average joe citizen would spark at something so simple as that statement!

The first step is accept the truth that we are all victims. Second step is choose not remain a victim. Third step is start the healing process.

The reality of life is that you awake from your dream to realize the nightmare and the question you must ask yourself is do you really want to be alert?

I don't think boycotting BP would hurt them in any way. Many people around the globe including you and me use their products (not just limited to petroleum) every day. Let’s say boycotting BP does in fact hurt them greatly financially. What does this accomplish? The big wigs in the company that made these bad decisions will still work there, will still be paid, and will probably lay people off just so their pockets stay fat. The company as a whole did not cause this disaster it was the greedy decisions made by the honchos.

So who suffers? The little people will suffer. The owners of gas stations that sell BP gas who have nothing to do with this disaster will suffer. Their livelihood will now be threatened. All the employees that make up low-level blue-collar jobs will suffer. White-collar jobs will suffer. All this while the men and/or women at the top are still sitting pretty.

Recent polls now show that 41% of Americans believe that Jesus is going to return soon. So why take care of the planet if you are stupid enough to think that superman is going to come and snatch your ass out of here? Seriously, religions are part of the problem of why our minds (and therefore our world )have decayed to this point. Primitive cultures and tribal spirituality has mostly honored the earth and our fellow passengers. But not so with the 3 Abrahamic religions: Instead its all about dominating, subduing, and multiplying!

I wanted to change the world when I was in my teens. I couldnt understand how people could let Hitler come to power, or how rapists could get away with only months of jail time, or how grown ups could ignore children being beaten by their parents, or bullied at school, etc.

I was very disappointed at the world.

Today I have become what I despised as a child. I think all politicians are powerless to change the world so I dont care about elections. And I believe all the top corporations are willing to do almost anything to become more powerful. It doesnt matter if it destroys the planet or causes unmeasurable harm to the animals.

I still get angry when I see the daily destruction of the planet, but I have stopped watching news to not become angry, because just like you, I am powerless.

You are not alone in feeling the way you do, but Im afraid nothing short of a giant asteroid will change the path humans have selected to follow. There is no justice coming to those who destroy and exploit this planet. Not in their lifetime anyway.

99.99999999% of people are good, but its the ones who arent who rules the world because being good is not what business or politics is about.
