How is "Amazing!Must Read....etc" a catchy phrase?

It was a phrase telling us to read it.
Even if you left out "you won't believe it" I think 'must read' STILL garners a lot of inquisitive attention.

I sorta get your point but your example is way off.

Yes, the politicians used and throw out a lot of mind-controlling words but saying something is "catchy" (like your high definition equipment) is simply a sales tactic. And although you're not misleading them, you're simply baiting and hooking them.
I just don't see how that (this) is the same as catch-phrases.

I just don't see this under the same category as 'catchy phrases'. If anything it's a Barkers cry!

How is it a catch phrase?

If i said,

"People get blinded by catch phrases all the time"

How much less likely would be to click the thread?
Much less, right?

But because the those words illicit an action out of you, you click the thread because its AMAZING, YOU GOTTA READ IT, And YOU wont BELIEVE IT!

Believe what?
It really doesnt matter.

This is great stuff. I sold HP 9000's in Beverly Hills for 3 years, and one Saturday when the store was very busy, I lectured the chairman of Hughes Aircraft and his partner (both unknown to me at the time) for more than an hour on why they should scrap their IBM PC's and get some real computers, i.e. the HP 9816/26/36 series. And they returned and sent a lot of business our way. I even have personal letters. So don't give up on moralizing, pontificating, and making outrageous claims. Just make sure you're a true believer yourself.

everyone falls for that tatic because the reality is that not everybody has access to every information

thats why in the future is going to be harder to do that, because people will be able to access internet quickly at anywhere

while nowadays it may be a pain if you dont have a cellphone with 3G or whatever

You drew me in with your catchy title because this is ATS and I had nothing to loose by checking it out! But I learned a long time ago not to fall for catchy lines when buying a product!
