After much pondering and searching for the truth , BP has this under control .

Them now drilling off the coast of Alaska, proved to me that the gulf spill is a Anomaly and it not even on their radar as far as emergency

Nothing has happened for a long time now and BP as well as the Obama administration seem perfectly relaxed.

They are leading by example and no one is paying attention.

So, sit back, relax watch the live gusher feeds and enjoy the show.

Both previous posts are sarcastic I hope??

BP has shown huge negligence in their handling of the Deepwater Horizon before the incident, and with the leak itself...

Buffoonery on a massive scale.

Are you crazy...BP are spending billions on this leak ...some companies walked away from their leaks and they continued unabated for years

So your saying it's perfectly "all good" that the Gulf Of Mexico is basically a dead-zone now?

You can't really sit there and tell me not to worry about the BP oil spill...you just really can't, thats final. I seriously hope BP pay darely for this.

How is something 'basically' a dead zone?

Do you really know what a dead zone is? Or are you just repeating something you read somewhere?

You need to get behind BP to help with the accident instead of mouthing off over the internet , you all sit back reading about it and doing nothing constructive to help...spurting nonsense that you want revenge etc on BP or individuals connected with the company...its just pure BS...grow some balls please.

I'm betting all of these "relax the oil leak isn't that bad" threads will slow down to a trickle in the coming weeks/months, won't be popular for long when the true scale of this disaster sinks in.
There will be a lot of mad people and they will not want to have it when you tell them their ruined way of life is no big deal..

Make this thread again in August and prepare for an avalanche of # coming your way.

Now let us all go and buy that Honda car that runs on FREAKING WATER!

what he means by dead zone is EVERYTHING IS DEAD, as the name obviously implies, or is soon to be dead, because, oil killed it all. Not hard to understand buddy.

It is pretty obvious. But its really not even the oil that is the problem its the large amounts of methane and then the corexit, and the oil.

Well, something can't be 'basically' dead, can it? If one understand the process of depleted oxygen levels in sea water that creates a 'dead zone', they would understand something either IS or ISNT a 'dead zone'.

While i DO think there is a very good chance that large regions of the gulf may continue to turn into dead zones (they have existed for YEARS, from agricultural and urban run-off that feeds microbes that use of the oxygen), the FACT is the entire Gulf is not "Basically" a Dead Zone, or "Actually" a Dead Zone.

If the Gulf were indeed a Dead Zone, you would sea the entire body of water change DRAMATICALLY. You would see MILLIONS of sea animals washed up on shore. What we are witnising is major, but it is not on the scale you are implying, yet.

A better understanding of science and biology might lend a more rational, tempered perspective, instead of such emotional, inaccurate hyperbole.

Flame away without actually reading, now...

If this wasn't so heartbreaking it would be funny.

And what about BP causing this massive rupture in the Sea Floor is the President's fault, specifically?

What a perfect example of what I am talking about. You make vague, inaccurate pronunciations, and then flame the person who corrects you.

The Gulf is not "dead" and it will not 'die' from all the oil. It may see the continuation of the growth of 'Dead Zones' from all the corexxit that is being dumped into the spill, but that isnt because the corexitt is toxic (it is), but because it will attract microbes which will consume the oil which will in turn use up oxygen as it consumes the oil and multiplies.

THAT is the definition of a "Dead Zone", not the simplistic and wrong arch-chair terminology you are inaccurately trying to apply.

ATS doesnt need anymore armchair doomsayers. We need well-researched facts.
