Hey there fellow peeps, I was wondering if anyone could assist me in creating an animated gif for my avatar. I just made a new avatar, and signature banner, and I'm happy with it, but I'd like to "kick it up a notch", and have the wolf pic be animated with possibly the stars twinkling and part of the wolf's fur glowing.

If anyone could help me with this I'd appreciate it, thanks!

Wow! That's awesome! You even did the banner, you rock! Could you make the "glow" on the wolf a shade of white? I'd love that!

Thanks for all your help, I so appreciate it! And, I owe you one!

What program do you use to make these? I have CS5 with all the programs, can I use one of them? I would like to try and make my own avy's. It will also give me practice with learning the programs.

I think you can use GIMP to create animations. It has an animation package.

Ulead Gif Animator

While it is not free, there is a free trial.

I use this and find it easy, intuitive and very very fast.

Doesn't CS5 cost like £900?

I have access to CS5 and it's great to use, in my amateur capacity I'm not paying £900 for it tho.

Could we work up a list of good free apps?

I use Gimp for everything I do. There are just as many tutorials on Gimp as for Photoshop online although I just push a lot of buttons and see what happens most of the time.

Something that probably takes just a couple of clicks takes me a couple of hours to figure out, but someday I'll do some reading....:shk:

I'm sure that the Photoshop that you have does the same things only uses different words and stuff.

And by the way, the new Gimp can use almost all of the Photoshop brushes that are found online..
