Hi! From a MOM perspective: sunscreen, bug spray, extra socks, underpants, diet coke, bottled water, swim suits, towels, Nail clippers and tweezers, hard candy, lots of maps, small change dollars and quarters,
solar blankets, travel pillow, jackets hats and gloves in winter, aluminum water bottles are good for boiling water in, small camping ax? I guess if we all drive around with all this junk in the trunk we are going to get poor gas mileage and have no room to haul groceries home in. I have spent twenty years driving 500 miles each direction to visit relatives with kids and a dog. Water and diet coke are essential with first aid kit (make sure you include benedrly in that), kleenex, blankets, and power steering fluid were important to us. Water shoes are good to put in the trunk too, good for fishing and other situations.
