He wasn't killing out of racism, to preserve slavery or colonialism, or to take other people's land.

He was fighting for the freedom of Mankind

Stalin's Russia was hell on enemies of the state, but the people as a whole were catered to, which is why most old Russians love Stalin

The very basics of freedom is being able to actually express views without being murdered by a government in the name of "freedom" as you call it.

thats just an ad hominem innuendo
useless as boobs on a bull

Well it was a guess on my part since your post read "I read somewhere that it was the Jewish clergy that he took orders from and that most killed were Christians. ".....which had no source to supposed reading of this false assumption.
that was me, silly.

You read a lie. Stalin had people close to him who were Jewish, but they were there for his convenience. Many people who knew him say he was anti-Semitic. His daughter wanted to marry a Jew, which upset him too.

I wish Stalin was here with me right now, so I could get him into a rear naked choke, wait till he black's out, then proceed to castrate, hook up to an I.V, stick both hands inside two modified microwaves, place his feet in a bowl full of fire ants, and then let the games begin!!!!

Russia was losing the war, and pushed several times from 1942 onwarth on a westfront invasion to lighten the eastfront, to prevent German victory there.
Finally DDay came.
The rest is history, but Stalin was a monster, worse than Hitler, but both didnt do it alone!
They had a lot of minions.. both were puppets.

If I remember correctly, Operation Overlord's real purpose was to secure Allied land on mainland Europe before the end of the war. By 1944, the Soviet army was smashing through Eastern Europe and there was very little the German army could do except hold the line. When D-Day happened, the vast majority of experienced German soldiers were on the Eastern Front.

If D-day hadn't happened, the Soviets still would've won. The main difference is that it's likely much of the European mainland would have been under Soviet control.

Stalin was a criminal...but unfortunately how my Ukrainian great grandmother described the situation then was he was trying to "save" Russia so he had many followers and people believing what he had done was for the better...when in the end more died from his rule than with Nazi rule.

Exactly Nazis were brutal and murderous securing their rear lines as they advanced , Stalin murdered anyone who didnt bow down to Stalin.....during peacetime as well as the war years.
The real irony which leads to a conspiracy theory is why didnt the two demons unite in demonhood and perpertate their evil on a greater scale?

Our history books are filled with inaccuracies and omissions of the truth as it is. The bust of Stalin makes the scene historically correct. I say, let it stay.

Hello, having read quite a bit about WW 2, yep, the Russians ground down the German army (Heer) and the German airforce (Luftwaffe), D-Day would have taken longer, cost more lives, but, as for Stalin, yes, a mass murderer,
Katyn wood springs to mind, those who did the murdering were also shot.
Little known fact, the minuet peace was declared, Stalin stopped paying for all the war aid America and UK sent to Russia, The Russians never sent out escorts for the northern convoys either, how ungrateful is that??
As with Russian prisoners not surviving in Germany, same for German prisoners in Russia, very few went home home either way.
A terrible thing to say, not by me, is that, perhaps 'the west' should have let Germany and Russia bleed each other to death, then perhaps D-Day would not have been needed, although the red flag might have flown over the Atlantic wall.

If the Allies would have won without Russian aid is pure speculation. As such, being a member of the Allies, having taken Berlin first, and independant of his other crimes, he deserves to be mentioned in that context.

Seeing as no American Vets ever fought against Stalin, why it would be an insult to them is also beyond me.

Many Mass Murderers have statues, Custer comes to mind.
