UFO Cover-Up a 'Cosmic Watergate'

Stanton Friedman a former nuclear physicist is coming forward and claiming there is a extensive government cover up relating to UFO's. Saying some "UFOs are intelligently controlled extraterrestrial spacecraft," and the United States government knows more than they claim about their existence, calling the cover up a Cosmic Watergate. If they (US government) brought the information into the open about what they knew it would be "the biggest story of the millennium."


Whether he is telling the truth or just looking to grab attention to push his new book, that's the question up for debate.

In Friedman's new book, "Science Was Wrong," co-authored with Kathleen Marden, he wrote, "There's been no shortage of strong, negative proclamations from debunking groups and individuals who refuse to examine the evidence ... to support the notion that some UFOs are of extraterrestrial origin." While some scientists through the years have quietly suggested Earth has been visited by ETs, Friedman is the most outspoken. He's especially irked by the attitude of scientists who use radio and optical telescopes in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence, such as the SETI Institute in California. "What really bothers me is that the SETI people will tell you there is no evidence for UFOs. Well, they certainly don't reference any, so there must not be any, right? Wrong!"

It's sort of amazing this is being covered by the MSM. Mr Friedman has spent decades getting his message out. It's sort of bizarre to see him breaking into mainstream. I'm sure his being on Larry King in recent years has helped him along. People here on ATS like to call Fox news Faux news, but in this case this sort of has an ironic twist. Are they actually now reporting on what Con Theo's have always wanted them to cover?

This is the kind of stuff I believe in. I really don't hold any doubt that the government knows much more about UFO's than they're letting on. And it seems likely that some of the UFO events are remote controlled by physical E.Ts elsewhere.

While I'm doubtful we'll ever see any real disclosure (the government will never admit to lying for decades, it will cause a tremendous problem with public perception and likely will enrage many), if enough credible individuals keep coming forward, others who may never have done so will follow suit, and we'll likely get a much better understanding of the big picture without the direct involvement of any government.

But these kinds of things need to keep happening. The more people that come forward, the better.

I was surprised myself to see the headline in the news box, I did a triple take before clicking it.

Then I had to wipe my eyes and re read it after the first time.

Why doesn't this stuff get plastered all over the national news? How come things like this get unnoticed and not top stories on every news channel in the country? Seriously, why is the news keeping this from being in people's faces, on their TV screens, or a breaking news story. Hell, everyone knows when a damn natural gas line bursts in flams in Texas.... Why not the Cosmic Watergate?

I think when the truth is told the US govt will have so much egg on their faces, it just might not happen because of this?...

He's certainly one of the most respected UFOlogists out there today, which is impressive, as long as he's been at this.

I haven't read any of his books, but I have seen him on Larry king and other shows.

I haven't been able to find the 2nd part to his speech anywhere, I checked his site, ufo congress site, youtube, tried a few different search engines and all no luck.

Its a conspiracy

It's actually commercialism. I think it's a teaser for the UFO congress dvd which is why you only get the first bit. unless you find a pirated copy you would probably need to buy it.

Friedman certainly is ubiquitous in ufology; but I just recently noted that he claims to have worked on both fission and fusion rockets. Its funny it came out with this story because I watched a positively ancient documentary last night where he says the exact same thing. The problem is , what are fusion rockets? Fission rockets sure, we have fission; but as far as I know the only place where fusion happens is on the sun. Perhaps he means that he worked on projected fusion projects, but I highly doubt there were ever working fusion rockets. Not to take away from Dr. Friedman (to whom I always enjoy listening to) but this statement perplexes me.
