What would your flag look like?

Let us assume for a moment that you have created your own fictional nation. Your flag is the first thing that will make an impression upon other nations.

So what would your nation's flag look like? Give reasons why you chose specific images or colors.

Here is mine...



Color scheme...

Red...for courage
Blue...for strength
White...for purity

The owl represents wisdom and intelligence.

The nautical stars represent a sphere of influence that reaches all points.

A red flag with picture of Buddy Jesus on it. Beneath him I would simply have the words, "Though I am with you on the other side, you're on your own here!"

My ideal flag for my hypothetical nation would be this flag




Black Sky, Red Earth. Yellow sun. The flag of my people.

I would call that nation "Bigambul" and it would extend over a 24,000 sq km area of South East Queensland and Northern New South Wales.

There is only one kind of person that would mess with Chuck Norris, and it wouldn't be pretty for them. It would be a Canadian that illegally came to America. That person would be completely insane.

Actually, any bit of rag would do... honestly not bothered.. but then again, as the oldest Anglo-Saxon nation in England we only got our first flag in 2007 (after a kiddies competition) we've only existed in the borders for what 1,600 years so that's not bad

I'd like a mixture of the Aboriginal flag and the Southern cross, not very original thinking but the Aboriginal flag represents the land and the Southern cross represents the sky.

This thread is not meant for anyone to criticize another, merely to stimulate creative juices.

Thought about thAt recently when i was creating a new flag for my own country (IMF-Land formerly known as Greece).

The colors would be

Brown representingearth
Blue representing sea and sky
Green representing Flora and Fauna (including humans)

And in the middle blue segment, ther would be a sun as a reminder what fuels life on this planet or what gives its life away, so we may live

black prime-creator, 0000..., reptilian, darkness, ying
gray experience realm, hybrid, balance

all in one flag, showing unity of all that be.

I have no idea what it means or symbolizes though, I just thought it looked cool, but that's the beauty of it.

It would be a circle of differently colored stick figures holding hands and surrounding the planet earth. It would represent the commitment to having society act as one for the benefit of all.

In all seriousness I think I would have a flag with

Black on the left = Signifies strength
White on the right = Signifies Pacifism/Neutrality
Red in the middle = Signifies force
Yellow dot in the top right = Signifies the sun ~ life

Gonna self-bump this thread seeing as there have been hundreds of new members joining since it's original posting.

Also I want to look for similar traits amongst peoples submissions i.e. colors, shapes, etc.

That's my Flag

My flag would be a big iron fist crushing the Earth beneath its might. Maybe I'd throw a pair of boobies somewhere on it. Who doesn't like boobies?

In all seriousness, I'd probably hire someone to make a flag rife with symbolism. I understand the purpose of a flag; to create a sense of unity. However, the symbolism is mostly lost on me.

I could only vaguely describe the meaning behind the flag of my own nation.
