Diana, Princess of Wales was killed because she planned to expose senior members of the British arms trade involved with land mines, a leading lawyer claimed today.
Michael Mansfield QC, who represented Mohamed al-Fayed in the inquest into the death of his son Dodi and the former royal, said Diana claimed she had an "exposure diary" in which she was going to unmask the people most closely involved with the British manufacturing of land mines.
Mr Mansfield said there is a missing box of papers which could contain crucial information.
Charity work
Though in 1983 she confided in Premier of Newfoundland Brian Peckford: "I am finding it very difficult to cope with the pressures of being Princess of Wales, but I am learning to cope,"[19] from the mid-1980s, the Princess of Wales became increasingly associated with numerous charities. As Princess of Wales she was expected to visit hospitals, schools, etc., in the 20th-century model of royal patronage. Diana developed an intense interest in serious illnesses and health-related matters outside the purview of traditional royal involvement, including AIDS and leprosy. In addition, the Princess was the patroness of charities and organizations working with the homeless, youth, drug addicts and the elderly. From 1989, she was President of Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children.
During her final year, Diana lent highly visible support to the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a campaign that went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997 after her death.[2

Why would she do this.. and why hasn’t another member off the family bought it up? For example his ex wife Sarah, apparently she has been in the media of late, something about having Andrew followed, something about needing money, I'm not absolutely sure I don’t really follow gossip mags.

She was also expected expose the 911 attacks and protest the wars that followed.
From a letter written by Diana in 1996,
This particular phase in my life is the most dangerous — my husband is planning ‘an accident’ in my car. Brake failure and serious head injury in order to make the path clear for him to marry . . .

On April 7, 2008, the jury did not decide it was just a tragic accident but returned a verdict of unlawful killing by the drivers of both the Mercedes and the following vehicles. The “following vehicles” element in the verdict was an aspect that very few commentators picked up on, or bothered with. In so far as anyone took any notice, they thought it was merely a reference to the chasing pack of paparazzi. It wasn’t: there were other vehicles clearly present, but never traced.

I don't believe anyone wanted to see her dead... I think there was a plan to sabotage the relationship and alter her life, to try to stop her activities.
