Russia slams US deployment of missiles in Poland

Russia on Wednesday criticized the United States' deployment of Patriot missiles in Poland, saying the move jeopardized bilateral relations and security in the region.

A battery of US surface-to-air Patriot-type missiles arrived Sunday at a Polish military base, the first such deployment on Polish soil.

"It is unclear why such a region located in the immediate proximity to the Russian border has been found for the deployment and where, as far as we know, there are no objects of military infrastructure," the Interfax news agency quoted an unnamed foreign ministry official as saying.

It's simple as that.

One of Obama advisors is Zbginew Brezezinski, who hates Russia with everything he's got. This was PREDICTABLE that they would go ahead with the deployment of the missile shield in eastern Europe.

And IMO that's why Iran hasn't been attacked yet... so they can use Iran as the reason for the deployment of that shield in eastern Europe claiming it's to protect ``against the iranian missile threat``... when in fact if that was the goal, the missile shield batteries would have been placed in Iraq, Turkey and Afghanistan.

And now it's been done... Russia kinda half pushed on this threat... after all many believe that Russia killed the anti-russian polish government with that crash plane... it seems that Poland did not understand the message...

IMO because of this, Russia could :
- Stop US to Afghanistan air supplies routes going over it's territory
- Withdraw from missile treaties
- Place Iskanders-M in Kaliningrad

And in the crazy land of unlikely :
- Attack Poland

Yeah.. Russia won't frig around like America. They probably would attack Poland... They threw a hard jab at Georgia when they fired on them.

That whole assassination plot of the Polish government went for naught?

As a Brit and a big supporter of the USA I really do believe the Yanks are taking the piss by doing this move against Russia. It is just unbelievably mad and bound to push Russia into a response. What end game can the USA be playing here? This will only encourage Russian weapons being sent to Iran and Kalliningrad. Do the USA actually really want a full on war with Russia? Scary stuff

I think this is a great idea: Provoke Russia and have them follow up with their action plan of nuking Poland.

It fits right in with attacking North Korea and Iran, then finally China.

Why would the US ever stop at attacking Afghanistan and Iraq when there are SOOOO many more countries to piss off and attack?

Gotta love US foreign policy. WWIII anyone? I need a bomb shelter.

Yep. Those defensive anti-aircraft missiles pose a real threat to Russia. You never know. You might have a MIG pull a Payne Stewert and get shot down over Krakow or something. Yep. Real threat there.
