Yeah, as another poster said "now I know where the Japanese got the look for samurai", the birds of paradise are when I realized where they got the inspiration for PoKemon

I love owls! This was fascinating. I don't think it was trying to look like a tree branch, though. Looked like it was trying to look like another type of bird, like a hawk, perhaps. The "ears" throw it off a bit, but the basic silhouette and and changing the shape of the eyes would be a match.

A really cool looking CGI movie about owls coming out later this year. We'll probably be seeing a lot more about owls until then.

I showed this to an owl friend of mine and he did a translation for me:

Okay, okay, who am I? Guess.

Give up?

Rosie O'Donnell (Owl laughter)

Okay, I have another one, ready?

Who am I? Guess.

Guess.

Give up?

Lindsay Lohan (More owl laughter)

I'm hungry. Let's get some mice.

That was a very entertaining video and you don't really need to know Japanese to appreciate it. Thanks for posting it.

Maybe it looks more like a branch when it's sitting in a tree, but it dodn't look much like a branch in that video to me. I could see what the other posters mentioned about a slight resemblance to a cat, or maybe a hawk, but it was definitely still showing eyes with a different shape, and branches don't have eyes.

Of course the japanese would have an owl that transforms. Truly we have much to learn from them.

Awesome video .. Japanese sure are weird, and they love "!!!!"'s lol ..

I always wanted an owl for a pet, but I'm told they are very intelligent and require to much attention (worse than a parrot) and only allow one handler, which they will assume is also their mate lol.

Still, would be cool to have a transforming owl ..

Man, you're exactly right. The owl mimicked a predator - a cat.

What it looked like to me (kind of) was a cat. When they're sitting on their hind legs and standing on their front ones.
