The Scottish Rite uses 33 because of Christ. That is the secret....he didn't die when he was 33. He went on to live a long and healthy life. At least, that is my OP.

As far as Masonic Light...i appreciate his input. But i would not go to a spook to get facts on the CIA.

Just sayin'.

Christ may or may not have lived past 33, but we cannot ascribe sectarian meanings to the Scottish Rite. The Rite is not Christian, and as such, does not view Jesus' age as anything relevant to itself.

So the Scottish Rite is a clandestine Christian group within the Masons? That doesn't quite make sense in my mind, especially when you see that the York Rite is already a known Christian entity within the Craft.

Are you saying we are the "spooks" of Masonry?
I do have to laugh a bit.

What is 36? The number of degrees or the alleged age of Jesus at his death?

In all honestly, the Scottish Rite is just a branch, but it only has more members because its membership requirement is much more liberal than the York Rite. Plus, back in the day, you had to go through the Rites to join the Shrine so by that logic the Shrine is a superior order in Freemasonry.

Nowhere, until this moment, have I heard the number 36 thrown around. Again I ask though, where do you get 36? Who is this according to? Are we about to hear a REO Speedwagon answer? Heard it from a friend who heard it from a friend who...

I meant something of a funny man...So what do they teach you in "school" murder as being righteous or justified, Sorry I just have a hard time dealing with people with the "god complex" such as the masons...

Well, in school religion wasn't allowed. In fact, I wasn't very religious in school, it wasn't until my adult years that I became religious. And where have I ever given a "god complex"? I'm guessing you're atheist, correct?

Plus, the Masons don't hold this complex as we don't push religion on anyone nor do we intend ever to impede on someone's right to not exercise a religious belief.

We take good men and make them better through the degrees which teach morals/lessons through symbolism. We also do a lot of charitable work which I am a big supporter of (see my quote for my belief in helping others).

Helping others or helping others to their demise?
Helping others is a bit inaccurate when describing the masons...

We don't cause demise. There are dozens of Masonic charities and the beneficiaries would disagree with your assessment of the Craft.

There is nothing sinister within our private meetings. We do degree ceremonies, but the other meeting we do is our business meeting which is boring.

Internally we are not conspiring the demise of man, but rather how to help the community. Do you have any proof of your assertions?
