Karzai's Taliban Peace Deal

Could this lead to the end of war against the Taliban?
Also, I didn't think we made deals with terrorists.
Has that policy changed?

In this article, Obama backs Karzai's offer to the Taliban
to denounce violence and sever ties with Al Queda and
they get concessions like involvement with Afgh Gov
and money and jobs. Is the U.S. buying their allegiance??
Has Obama's strategy changed? If you can't beat them ...
bribe them !!!! This deal stinks to high heaven.

Barack Obama, the US president, has said ties with Afghanistan remain
strong and backed the Afghan government's efforts to engage with
Taliban fighters who give up violence.

Speaking at a joint news conference with Hamid Karzai, the Afghan
president, at the White House, Obama said he supported Kabul's
efforts to "open the door to Taliban, who cut their ties with al-Qaeda
and renounced violence".

Obama was referring to recent efforts by the Karzai government to
introduce a scheme to attract Taliban fighters back to normal life by
offering money and jobs

english.aljazeera.net...

I did notice this peace deal wasn't on the MSM.
I wonder why??? Maybe cuz it would pi$$ off all
those families of soldiers who gave their life
to fight the Taliban.

Your thoughts please ??????

What a JOKE it is, when this guy's half brother is the big drug dealer.

And we are in cahoots with both of them.

Everything that's happened in Afghanistan to date stinks.

It's all a sham.

No country has managed to defeat Afghanistan, and at least this way the US get to save a little face.

Yep... paying the Taliban not to kill any more of your soldiers is pretty close to a surrender I'd say.

There was recently an article on ATS about some sort of fungus attacking the poppy fields. Seems to me, it could have been self inflicted by the growers to make a point.

Yes, it seems this has not been shared for this reason. To lose a child that went to war, to supposedly protect us, while all the while protecting poppy fields, would be a tough thing to swallow.

It's my belief Pat Tillman died for this reason.

im pretty sure the taliban wanted peace in the first place but america decided they didnt for them then proceeded to drop bombs and invade their country killing thousands of innocent people in turn creating insurgents who had lost half their family and now (understandably) want to avenge their deaths. what are they gonna do " hear mr taliban sorry about that drone attack on your house here have a Mc job and dont forget to ask if they want frys with that" one day all those stinger missiles that the muj were ment to use on the russians but didnt are gonna come out and im sure they'll tell you were to stick that job. then again they were taught to use those stingers in my country. we brout this on our selfs i think the best soulution would be for us as the comman man to round up our leaders and former leaders and hand them over to the muj in exchange for peace sound fair to you?

The taliban asked for evidence linking Osama to 9/11 and they would hand him over, since no evidence exists we simply invaded. The majority of people we are fighting over there are from Pakistan, they are also not one cohesive group of enemies, it's many different groups...we just label them all as taliban.

the taliban are not terrorists, they never was. they are only extremists, but al queda are the true terrorists and its because of them that US invaded Afghanistan.

on the other hand al qaeda doesnt even exist, it was created by america to invade and stop the taliban from building a strong government. this has much to do with religion prophecies. the zionist fear a stable Afghanistan!

Afghanistan is a CIA operation to get the Russian market flooded with heroin.

It worked pretty good so far, but now they seem to have some fungus that drops production 25-40%

I don't see the difference with Charlie Wilson's war, instead of weapons to fight the Russians, now it has become drugs.
