Language is fluid. In my life time I have seen "method" become "methodology" and gay has also changed. New words move from slang to legitimacy via the Oxford Dictionary.

Most people should understand that requiring a "Christian name" does not imply endorsement of Xtianity or any other religion. It is just a popular vernacular. I find this to be a case of a silly change which will only favour those with specific religious axes to grind with xtianity namely fundamental moslems.
