Now I have no idea whether or not earthquakes happened this much in the past, but it seems like almost everyday there's another and not just tiny ones most have passed a 5 on the Richter scale... it's starting to get crazy from my P.O.V.

But does anyone else feel like they're escalating? I know that their are a few bible verses that mention how the end days will have more earthquakes, and while I feel like I may have just unleashed hell by saying that I know that I'm not the only person that I know personally that feels the escalation, the pastor at my parent's church can't go one week without mentioning it almost with a gleeful sort of way about it, but that's life people are weird that way.

Lets hope the initial report is right and that their are no deaths and injuries luckily this one happened in the middle of nowhere.

Not exactly the middle of nowhere, but away from most cities...

Your right, I have a feeling that their will be some reported deaths at some point or another but still on a world stage viewpoint as opposed to densely populated areas this could be the middle of nowhere... I mean I live in a city so I go to suburbs and I feel like I'm in the country

As worrisome as it may be, the recent activity is not really unusual.

There is an average of 1 earthquake of 8.0 or greater each year. Hopefully we got that one out of the way.

There are an average of 17 of 7.0 - 7.9. We've had 3.

There are an average of 134 6.0 - 6.9. We're not even close.

Too true Phage, yet the attention span of the world has increased somewhat...don't you agree?

I think the attention span may have shortened. People don't remember that this happens fairly continually. That, and we hear about the quakes a lot more here on ATS.

...and there is a thread that covers them for the year so no need to post every one

As I posted this one in there I was thinking, " how long until 3 threads pop up about this quake that I'm posting in here".

I was thinking the same thing, Tittel goes onto say, "..with quakes rattling area’s that have never experienced a quake before"

But at this magnitude and this frequently? ..Hmm.

Yes. Since we are talking about an earthquake of magnitude 6.4, let's count together earthquakes of 6.0 and greater.

From last year:
8/16/2009 9/2/2009 9
8/20/2009 9/7/2009 8
8/28/2009 9/12/2009 10
8/30/2009 9/17/2009 9
9/3/2009 9/18/2009 7
9/7/2009 9/23/2009 8
9/10/2009 9/29/2009 8
9/17/2009 10/2/2009 11
9/18/2009 10/3/2009 12

Too soon? Ok:
1/19/1995 2/3/1995 7
1/21/1995 2/5/1995 7
1/24/1995 2/8/1995 7
1/27/1995 2/13/1995 8
2/2/1995 2/19/1995 12
2/5/1995 2/21/1995 12
2/8/1995 2/23/1995 11
2/10/1995 2/28/1995 13

Still too soon?
6/22/1977 7/10/1977 8
6/28/1977 7/21/1977 8
7/10/1977 7/29/1977 6
7/21/1977 8/11/1977 7
7/29/1977 8/19/1977 4
8/11/1977 8/26/1977 11
8/19/1977 9/4/1977 16
8/25/1977 9/11/1977 13
8/28/1977 9/13/1977 10
8/31/1977 9/17/1977 9
9/4/1977 9/19/1977 8

These are not unusual series. It's no big thing unless you are unlucky enough to live where one happens to hit.

I posted this earlier on another thread.... Didn't know this orriginal thread was here... Geeze ATS is so anal...

Geeze!!

These Earth quakes are purely a cascade swarm as predicted by the dynamics of the sciesmic shock wave!!

Why is no one listening to me??

There is nothing unusual about this... it happens all the time, one major earth quake triggers another..... Earth Quake Swarm!!

Come one people stop talking about the possibility of Sol being a binary system or a rouge star / object inbound... This is just pure speculation... I'm presenting a real accountable phenomenon that has been proven both mathematically and in actuality.

You don't have to have a degree in fluid dynamics to understand how vibrations are propogated through a fluid!!
