I'll add to the growing list of people who think this is a clown shoes attempt to bash.

I disagree with my mother on a lot of political stances, yet if she were to run for office, it'd be rather absurd to point to me and say "but your sun believes this"

There have been many things to call Palin out on, her legally adult daughter using the system for her benefit is not one.

But it means Bristol's a Socialist, Super! Sarah's housing an outed Socialist!! Shouldn't she come out now with a speech talking about how she can no more disown Rev. Wright... err... Bristol... than she could disown her own mother?

Wonder what the Right would be saying is, say, Michelle Obama, a grown woman, a family member of Barack, had came out "for" a controversial topic, or said something contrary to the image Obama is portraying. Something like "For the first time in my adult life I'm proud to be an American..." Oh wait, something like that did happen. Mannn! Hannity sure held Obama responsible for THAT slip of the tongue eh?

Heck, you'd of thought that Obama had said "God #$%$ America!" And all he did was attend the church where that kooky guy preached. He's not even Obama's son!

Guess the associations card is strictly patented within the Rightie playbook.

That is taking what I said entirely out of context

I didn't jump all over Michelle, I defended her. It was a harsh truth that we all had to face.

There are certain members here that I know would be deserving targets of that attack, not this one. Please do not lump me in with them.

haha!!! I toyed with adding some sort of disclaimer, Super, in the event of a misunderstanding. I should have. Didn't mean to insinuate that you felt that particular way. I just keyed off of your main point. My apologies that it didn't come across the way I intended.

Although I'm trying to be funny to make the point, my main thesis really still points to the hypocrisy of it all. Although the Rev. Wright situation is, I acknowledge, a bit different from this Palin situation, it is not THAT MUCH different.

This sort of implies that she has a choice. If you're paying into the system and not using it when you need it arent you just a sucker?

Now, if she really has a choice she wouldnt be forced at the barrel of a gun to pay into the system as she is. As we all are.

Show me the papers to sign so I can exercise my choice and opt out and retain my earned wages. What's that you say? No such paperwork exists? Hmmm....

Then I apologize for taking it in a menacing manner.

I should know ATS better.

I'm sure you can understand the frustration of possibly being linked to something you disagree with to very strongly.

No harm no foul

Not if you're standing on good ole "Commonsense Conservative" principles. It's all in the framing. Everyone should be judged as they choose to WANT TO BE JUDGED.

If Palin wants to where the banner of morality and integrity that the Right extols, if Palin chooses to exploit her kids when she runs for political office, or as she builds this "Commonsense Conservative" brand, if Palin puts Bristol out there as the message of abstinence (in the public light), then she's chosen how she wants to be judged.

Bristol is now a public figure by their own choice and, as many of you have pointed out, is an adult. She's fair game for criticism. She also LIVES with Sarah, and is therefore an influence to Sarah and is influence (I'd venture to say controlled) by Sarah.

What Bristol chooses to do, not do, or say, by the tactics of their very same party, should reflect on Palin.

Again with the Anti-Palin thing- Big Deal. When will you folks stop? I am beginning to think people make post headings with PALIN in it just to get someone to read their diatribe.

Fear....... If she was a "nothing" and not to worry about, we wouldn't hear a word. And, I bet EVERY person who said or writes bad things about Palin wouldn't do it in front of her and her husband. He would kick you @$$es and rightfully so.

The sexism is getting a bit too much. I guess it is easy to attack a woman.

Hey OP. I hear CNN and ABC are looking for more political axemen reporters/posters. Maybe you would be better suited posting things for them.

I think the real injustice (if any) is the father (Levi Johnson). Another dead beat, no good, sperm donor.......

Most of you level-headed people out there know this already. Palin is creating a brand. Every move from every family member is calculated to express a specific message or ideal. So for something like this to come out means it's one of three things:

1. It slipped through the cracks
2. Palin thought you were too stupid to find it.
3. She realized that it was small enough that, even if anyone did put the pieces together, her kookoo followers would get on ATS and just say things like "Well... Welll, It's Bristol, not Sarah. Yeah. That's it!"

And Finally...

Even if Sarah doesn't condone it, and Bristol is showing her independence, then:

- Bristol Palin Supports Publicly Funded Healthcare!!!
- Bristol Palin is a Socialist!!!
- Sarah Palin Has A Socialist Living In Her House!!!
- Sarah Palin Associates Herself With Socialists!!!

OR,
It's a lie!

Look up the BBNA and see the truth.

Or are you afraid?

Deny ignorance!

Except the hypocrisy is with the OP and You.

The story is false. The BBNA Consortium, Inc. is a non-profit corp. and did not use HHS money for Bristol's care or Tripp's.

People who parrot lies as truth make fools of themselves, discredit the nonest discourse, political and otherwise, on ATS, and have zero credibility.

Deny ignorance!

dub, there's no attempt at dishonesty here. I'll take a look, do some more research, and if the main story turns out to be false, I'll gladly rescind. I'm not afraid of being wrong.

Not everyone is a right or left-wing tool, and my main points about the hypocrisy stands whether or not this particular story is true or not.

If you'd bothered to read about the BBNA, you'd know better.

What are you going to make up next?

It doesn't matter to you what the truth is, does it?
ATS should ban posts that are blatantly unsupported by facts and slanderous at the same time.

Deny ignorance.

I made up nothing since I'm not the author of the article. You make your own decisions. You're a grown person who is entitled to your opinion. And the same goes for me.

You opinion is the one that matters. I presented the information, it is up to you to determine how you feel about that information.

It was only a matter of time before someone called this story a hoax. Congratulations for being the first.

It is what it is.

How sad that political fright skews our morals so badly that truth and ethics take second place to "my post" and "my stars" and "my flags."

jw

No argument here. Like I said before, its your opinion that matters.

anon, your point here is simplistic. The only people that fear Palin are on the Right. Palin is incredibly popular among the average right-wing citizenry, those less likely to dig into political details, and truth be told, those less likely to show up and vote. Right-wing leadership, however, FEARS Palin because she has the potential to dilute the conservative vote in 2012. She doesn't stand a chance to win, but she will pull over enough votes to lose the election for Pawlenty, Romney, whoever.

Trust me, liberals DO NOT FEAR Palin. They encourage her.
They WANT her to succeed.

I would also venture to say that, whether this story is true or false, as dub likes to remind us, they crop up not to destroy her politically, but to keep her in the news, for the reasons I just outlined.

Didn't the conservatives try to downgrade Obama from things that his preacher had said?

I could have sworn that this was the case. But, now that Palin's own family is utilizing social medicine, we shouldn't associate one with the other? Very odd line of thinking. But, you're welcome to your opinion.

Yes, the conservatives did.

I am not a conservative.

I did not down play Obama for anything...did you take the time to read the posts in your own thread? Me and tommy_boy just had a discussion about this.

I'd also like to take this time, since you addressed me personally, to address you not taking responsibility for the article. I think we all get that you did not write it, but you presented it to us. There have been holes found in the article that is the source of this thread. Therefor, unfortunately for you, putting your thread in question.

soooo... Who didn't do their Homework?

A Link to the Government Accountability Office website, and an article that provides, in part, a description of the duties of the IHS, one of which is that they are:

"responsible for arranging health care services for Native Americans (American Indians and Alaska Natives)."

Services that are offered "as funds permit."

I'm with you, dub... Let's deny ignorance...

I'm not much worried about whether you put my thread in question or not. This isn't something that I am taking personally. I think its amazing that this provoked so much thought that you, in fact, chose to create another thread in defense. I have accomplished my goal at provoking critical thought and analysis.

Again...you are welcome to how you choose to view the information. If you want to defend Palin, by all means, please do. Inevitably, it will only bring more attention to this thread.

I see no reason to defend my position since I have already stated it.

Thank you for your posts and your opinions.

No, you offered your endorsement and concurrence, or are you too embarassed to admit that this is part of your OP:

Well, if this doesn't let you know that Politicians sit on both sides of the isle, then nothing will convince you. You've been screwed from the jump. I hope this is enough to open your eyes...

They preach that socialized medicine isn't good for you, and then suck up the benefits of it right before your very eyes.

Deny ignorance! (You know very well what you said and meant.)
