Natalee Holloway: The Case Reviewed

Hello ladies and Gentlemen! Welcome back for YET another Case Review (Number 12 to be exact!). I know that I have been gone for a while (Forgive the rust) and that I still owe many of you the Martin Luther King Jr. Case Review and of course the Great Clean up of the 1960's, but I am still researching those! So just be patient, college is taking up a lot of my time..lol.. Anyway, I decided to throw out a case review that I have personally wanted to deliver. This is a case that for some reason has truly touched me more than any other case thus far. Perhaps it is because of the age of the victim, the cockiness of the suspects, the complete mess of the investigation or perhaps a combination of all factors. Needless to say this is a case that truly deserves to be reviewed, even though it is OFFICIALLY still open. And without further wait, I present the next case review.

Natalee Holloway: The Case Reviewed

Natalee Ann Holloway, an 18 year old American student from Mountain Brook, Alabama and graduated from Mountain Brook High School. Her class had a graduation trip planned to the lovely island of Aruba, a weeklong of freedom and the last time to be together as a class. This was a time to be joyful and sad, but a time to build memories with your friends. Sadly this vacation turned for the worse on May 30, 2005 when the 18 year old Natalee Holloway did not make her flight home. The only student missing...

Natalee Holloway disappeared sometime in the early morning hours of May 30th, 2005. Her friends stated that they saw her outside of Carlos N Charlies, a popular hangout for the locals, especially teenagers and tourists. Natalee was also seen getting into a car with 3 men. One of Natalee's friends tried to get Natalee to get out of the car and return to the bar; however, Natalee did not do so responding to her friend that she would be fine. Eventually, the car pulled away. The three men in the car would later be identified as; Joran Van Der Sloot, Deepak Kalpoe, and Satish Kalpoe.

When Natalee was discovered missing, the seven chaperones called Beth Hollway and told her that her daughter was missing. Beth immediately knew that something was wrong. She called her husband and the two made arrangements to fly out Aruba on the same day. When they landed they discovered the names of the three men that Natalee was last seen with. Beth went on the offensive, like any good mother would do, and demanded to know where her daughter was. She marched up to the house of Paulus Van Der Sloot, a high ranking official in the Aruba and with a photograph in hand demanded, "Tell me where my daughter is!"

Joran stated that he did not know who she was. That is when another local walked over and decided to help translate for Beth and her husband. Joran eventually stated that he had a long night with her and that the two met in the Holiday Inn casino and then they met again at Carlos N Charlies. He told Beth that Natalee wanted to leave with him and his two friends and that she wanted to go to the beach and to see sharks. Joran stated that they had intercourse and that she was extremely drunk. But after they had their fun, they dropped Natalee off at her Hotel and that was the last time they saw her. Eventually, Joran's father, Paulus decided that his son had stated enough and ended the intense interrogation.

After this two security guards were arrested who Joran and the Kalpoes stated that they saw walking toward Natalee after they dropped her off. Eventually, the guards charged, but Beth continued to push for Joran and the kalpoes to be arrested, believing that they were the ones truly responsible for her daughters disappearance. Eventually, the charges were dropped against the two security guards and they were released. Beth continued to push for Joran and his friends to be arrested and eventually they were. This brings us to the Investigation...

The Investigation

On June 9, 2005, Joran Van Der Sloot, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe are arrested and interrogated for quite some time. Amazingly, the stories are quite different and the friends quickly begin to try and cover their tracks by throwing rocks at each other (Figuratively speaking, of course).

Joran was interrogated for a long time and told a different story from the one he had told Beth. Joran stated that he had met Natalee at Carlos N Charlies on the night of May 30th. He said that he asked him to dance and Joran declined the pretty girls offer. Joran said she asked him again and he once again declined. Eventually, Natalee grabbed Joran by his hand and said that she wanted to do belly shots. After the belly shot, the two went into the car and Satish and Deepak drove them around and then dropped the two off at the Marriott Hotel and then Deepak and Satish went home.

Joran then stated that Natalee and he went to the beach where they kissed and fooled around. Joran stated that he eventually got tired and that he had school the next morning and had to go. He said that Natalee wanted him to stay. Joran stated that he tried to carry her off the beach, but she resisted and he put her down. He said that he left her on the beach. He called Deepak to come and get him and Joran said that was the last time he had seen her. He said that he was sorry for lying about bringing her back to the hotel, his reasoning? Was that he was scared.

And Joran's other story is that Deepak killed Natalee and then buried her on the beach somewhere. Joran continued that he believed that Deepak had raped her and then killed her.

And on June 29th, Deepak and Joran were secretly videotaped in the back of a squad car. The following is what was stated:

Deepak: They're going to give you fifteen years if they find the girl.

Joran: For what? For what?

Deepak: That scholarship of yours. Byeeeeeeee. You can forget it.

(Joran had earned a scholarship to a school in the United States)

Joran: Yeah, by who? By you, retard. You know well that you did bad, otherwise you wouldn't lie.

Both Brothers: aaiaaieaaieeaiee! (some type of screaming sound)

Joran: I should have killed you, retard. Shut your trap.

Joran once again would be caught in another lie. He stated that he was picked up by Deepak, but then stated that he was picked up by Satish instead. Then he stated that he walked for about 30-40 minutes and then was picked up by one of the brothers. The Kalpoes both denied ever picking up Joran. Joran is held in jail along with the Kalpoes.

"Whatever happened to her, happened at Joran's apartment or at the beach to the north of the Marriott hotel," Mansur said. "The disposal of her body, we strongly believe, was masterminded by the father, who coached them by the pool at his home and drilled them in what they had to say and which story they had to cling to."~ Jossy Mansur, the provocative and sometimes explosive editor of the Aruban daily newspaper Diario. September 2nd 2005, The Kalpoes are released and Joran is also released. Joran is granted access to leave Aruba to attend college in Holland. September 14, 2005, the suspects are still suspects, but all restrictions are overthrown. They are considered freemen, but still eligible to be charged again.

April 15, 2006, During this time many more suspects were arrested for instance: Geoffrey van Cromvoirt, a friend of Joran's and a ships disc jockey. After only six days of being held, the police release him. Guido Wever was sought as a person of interest. The police chiefs son was also interrogated. Paulus Van Der Sloot, the father of Joran was also arrested for no official reason, but quickly released without any proper explanation as well.

However, in november of 2007, Joran, Deepak and Satish are re-arrested. They were arrested on suspicion of involvement in manslaughter. Van der Sloot was arrested in the university in Holland. In December the review of the evidence forced the judge to release the Deepak brothers again after he decided the evidence was nowhere near strong enough o hold the two brothers. Joran is also released a day later after the judge states there is not enough cause to hold him. However, specific details on what was insufficient were never released.

The case would be reopened with the help of Dutch reporter Peter R. de Vries, who caught Joran Van Der Sloot in what seemed like a confession with the help of Jorans friend “Patrick”.

Thanks to his "friend" Patrick and Peter R. de Vries this video collection caught Joran in what seems like a confession. However, upon further inspection it appears to be half truth and half lies. Perhaps Joran did not fully trust this friend Patrick, after all Joran was caught before with hidden cameras and we all know what they say? Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. However, the parts that seem to collaborate what I believe happened stem from this video and a few others.

Examining the Confession

From smiling and smirks to an all around serious tone what was being stated here? Was this a pure confession? Or was it half truths?

Some key Quotes:

"I know what happened to that girl," ~van der Sloot

"We're on the beach over there," he says in the recordings. "Suddenly, she wasn't moving any more."

"I've never discussed it with anyone. ... It isn't easy, either, not even now,"~ van der Sloot

"They have nothing," van der Sloot "I laughed at them, those investigators. & I didn't say a word. & I invoked my right to remain silent."

"She'll never be found,"~ van der Sloot

"I don't know exactly where she is, but she is never going to be found again." ~ Joran

"The ocean is big Patrick."~ Joran

Joran phones a person named ‘Daury’ who is half Dutch and half Aruban. A couple of other times Joran talks about the fact that he was helped by several other people that night. Daury has a boat docked in front of the hotel in which he takes cruise tourists on ‘tubes’ and ‘bananas’. Daury came instantly to Joran and together they quickly declared that Natalee was in fact dead.

Together they carried the girl from the beach into Daury’s boat. Daury tells Joran to walk home. He, the friend, takes off onto the ocean where he throws Natalee’s body out of the boat into the sea. After that he visits Joran at his home, he has an apartment in the garden of his parent’s house, to talk about what happened. Joran tells Daury he walked back home and hid his shoes in a storm drain. Later on he sat some time behind his computer and the following morning he went to school as usual. The next night he went to the casino ‘just to be recorded on camera’. In a cold premeditated manner he leaves behind traces which could clarify that he didn’t have time to kill Natalee. Very clever for a seventeen-year-old, but Joran is of course the son of a judge-to-be.

What is so interesting is that this friend sounds an awful like this guy (Steve Croes):

However, the police released him and so that tells me that it is probably not this guy. But how convenient is it that his friend would have access to a boat that did those sort of things. But what is very interesting is that Joran states that he had help from multiple people. This seems odd, multiple people? Why would you need multiple people to hide a body and better yet WHY would you want multiple people to help you hide a body? You would think that you would want the least amount of people to know that you had just killed somebody, yet Joran states that he had help from more than one person.

Which leads us to problem 1: Who were the other conspirators?

Problem 2: Why ask for help from multiple people?

Problem 3: Joran says that she is dead and in the ocean. Yet he states that he has no idea where she is many times in the video.

Problem 4: Natalee was not a party animal and her friends and mother all state that she would never go anywhere with a stranger. What changed that night? Was it Joran that drugged her drink? And if he did why would he not mention that important detail while giving up all the other important details to Patrick?

Problem 5: Why not reveal his friends name with the boat? He is already giving up huge info why hold some back?

Problem 7: Joran also states that he would hope for compensation more than once in the videos. Yet he never fully delves into who will compensate him. One would assume that it would be the Aruban government with the arrests. Yet there are other reasons for getting compensated for getting arrested and that is for being a fall guy (Even though Joran is much more than a fall guy).

Problem 8: Natalee did not appear drunk according to multiple witnesses.

Natalee briefly dances with her ex-boyfriend Jeremy Brown. Jeremy does not think she is drunk (DZNH)

Bartender Carlos Medina observes that Natalee does not seem drunk, and that she looks very happy (DZNH).

Holloway Case

As Ruth departs she sees Joran and Natalee talking and waves, Natalee waves back. Ruth does not think Natalee looks drunk (DZNH).

Problem 9: Joran states that he was NOT interested in Natalee. Yet according to witnesses he was watching Natalee.

Natalee passes by Joran without acknowledging him. After returning from the bathroom Natalee goes back up on the stage to dance, while Lee goes to do more body shots on the bar. Lee last sees Natalee as she is dancing on the stage and Joran is standing by the steps looking up at her (Broughton 302)

Problem 10: Joran had already confessed that he had not killed Natalee, but rather sold her.

On November 24, 2008, the program "On the Record" aired an interview with Joran, taped about 6 months after his November 2007 arrest, in which he alleged that he had been paid to deliver a blond girl to the beach, by an unidentified individual who then took Natalee away alive by boat. Joran also alleged that the Kalpoe brothers had been aware of this plot, that he paid them for their assistance, and that his father had paid off two police officers who learned Natalee had been taken to Venezuela. However, Joran retracted the statements made in the interview, in an e-mail sent to the program hours after it was taped.

So what could this mean? Well, I will explain in my Conclusion and my Theory.

My Theory/Closing Statements

Natalee Holloway, a beautiful and bright 18 year old from Alabama, suddenly vanished without a trace. So what happened to Natalee? And most importantly where is she?

First let’s begin from the time when Natalee enters the casino.

After dinner, Natalee Holloway, Lee Broughton, Madison Whatley, and others go to the Holiday Inn casino, where Joran van der Sloot is already present playing blackjack (Whatley 302).

Timeline

However, Joran's father is stated to have left earlier, but some interesting evidence has popped up recently that may suggest that Paulus Van Der Sloot may have met Natalee Holloway:

Is this Paulus Van Der Sloot in his white shirt, wrist watch, glasses and hair? It certainly does look like him from afar, but we cannot be 100% sure if it was him or not. However, if it was it opens up many more questions and if it wasn't it wasn't.

Authorities on the island of Aruba have not been able to solve the mystery of what happened to Alabama teenager Natalie Holloway. She disappeared while on a high school trip last spring. The ABC7 I-Team has learned new details about the casino where Holloway was last seen, an Aruba casino run by a convicted high-ranking Chicago mobster.

Casino boss Michael Posner denies that he knows van der Sloot and denies ever extending him casino credit. Posner’s lawyer Allan Ackerman says Posner was in Chicago when Holloway vanished and returned to Aruba the day after.

Adding more intrigue to the mix is the fact that Posner is furious that security tapes from The Excelsior that he volunteered to the ALE for the Natalee Holloway investigation wound up in the hands of ABC. Posner, according to his attorney is looking into legal action to whoever turned it over to ABC.

Tapes Released

American owner of the Excelsior Casino and Brickell Bay Hotel. One of the members (alleged suto capo) of the Chicago mob family associated with the Good Ship Lollipop. AKA Michael Rubins, Irving Goldstein. Posner's lawyer Allan Ackerman says Posner was in Chicago when Holloway vanished and returned to Aruba the day after. Intelligence report on Michael William Posner – 64 years old. Family still resides in Riverside, outside Chicago, Illinois. His criminal profile lists involvement in illegal gambling, strip clubs and vending machines. Criminal history dates to 1960 includes numerous arrests and successful tax and racketeering prosecutions

If Paulus Van Der Sloot met Natalee before, this sort of changes a few things. For instance, was Jorans meeting with Natalee random? Or was it part of a much darker conspiracy: Human Trafficking. Joran Van Der Sloot has been linked with selling sex slaves:

De Vries’ latest report, which was shown Sunday night on Dutch television, shows Van der Sloot telling someone posing as a sex-industry boss that he can get passports for Thai women and girls who think they are going to the Netherlands to work as dancers, DutchNews.nl reported.

Van der Sloot makes about $13,000 for every woman sold into prostitution in the Netherlands, De Vries claims.

Joran Van Der Sloot is linked to selling girls in what is known as the Netherland - Thailand Sex Trade. There are many routes to this and it is a highly booming market.

Joran Van Der Sloot, after, perhaps being told by his dad to talk to her. Hell who know ladies and gentlemen maybe Paulus Van Der Sloot was part of this human trafficking racket and if he was not he sure as hell knew his son was and that makes him just as guilty. But let’s say that Paulus found Natalee and then got Joran to pick up the mark so to speak. Joran plays hard to get and this lures Natalee in more. Natalee is perhaps drugged and then thrown into the car with Deepak, Satish and Joran. Natalee tells her friends that she is ok and that she will be fine. Joran is dropped off by Deepak and Satish at the beach. The two walk on the beach and Joran waits for the man with the boat to arrive.

Now if this scenario were true a question needs to be asked, how did the man know that Joran would be there? Perhaps, if Paulus was involved, Paulus made the phone call or perhaps these other conspirators that Joran mentions in his taped "Confession". Either way, it is certainly possible for this event to have occured. Joran then leads her onto the boat after an exchange of cash or payment or whatever and he never sees again. Of course, one could argue that the kid is seventeen years old. But I could also argue that he was involved with drug dealers and the works at the age of 17, he has a lot of room to make this happen. Then why would Joran confess to her being dead to Patrick?

Because if Joran sticks to one story then he does not have to continue about lying. But most importantly, if Joran states that she is dead, but the prosecution cannot prove their is a body then the crime becomes all that more difficult to pin on him. But if he said that he sold her he could have easily faced charges the next day, because you do not need a body, because she would still be alive!

The best evidence that she is still alive is the recording where he tells his dad that she is and this statement:

"On the Record" with Greta Van Susteren. Joran sold Greta that he "sold" Natalee to a Venezuelan man for ten thousand dollars.

Scenario 2

Joran while he was perhaps waiting for the boat did have intercourse with Natalee, but then she died. I would imagine that if you are going to transport a young lady across the ocean and do not want her fighting that you would probably drug her to prevent that from happening. Perhaps with the drugs and the alcohol that she consumed she did in fact die.

After she died when the boat rolled in, Joran and his fellow conspirators put Natalee on the boat and threw her overboard after a few miles at sea. A failed human trafficking transaction.

It just does not make any sense for Natalee to want to go to the beach to see sharks! That makes no sense. Joran wanted to go to the beach to sell her. That makes much more sense, because if you want to have intercourse with a girl why go to the beach? Why not go to his apartment? It just did not make any sense. Of course this would also mean that Deepak and Satish probably knew of what their friend Joran was planning.

I personally believe that it was scenario B. I honestly believe she is dead, but the circumstances surrounding her death is of course up for heavy debate. I think she was drugged and was meant to be sold that night. However, the drugs used had an adverse reaction with the alcohol in her system and her body went into some sort of seizure and she died. BUT the plot is MUCH thicker than that. My friends the rabbit hole goes much further than we can even imagine. The island of Aruba is filled with corruption, including people who were former sex traders and received prison sentences for doing so. It is certainly possible that many members of the island and many of the younger generations are taking over the reins since it is easier for younger men to meet younger women. Plus their parents would be able to protect them since they have high ranking positions; nearly all of the young suspects have parents in the government of Aruba and security firms.

But then why would Joran confess that he sold Natalee for $10,000, instead of stating that she just died when he tried to sell her? Well that would mean more charges and of course unravel a huge web of conspiracies linking many powerful officials to some very shady things.

“We thought we could solve this in a couple of days, but it turned out to be very difficult. In my 30 years as a police officer, I've never had a case like this." TROMP told the “AP,” on 8-3-05.

Whos Who

This is something interesting. I have never had a case like this? Why is it so difficult? Not only was the government slow, the police work choppy and a hell lot of other things, but it almost seems like they just did not want to try to unravel the true crime. Perhaps because they knew it would take them to a dark place and bring some of the power players down. Sadly and unfortunately for them, they are in a dark place until the case is solved and of course what goes around... comes around.

Closing Statements:

Natalee Holloway, whether she is dead or alive we may never know for certain. But what we do know for a fact is that the Aruban government has some very interesting and dark secrets that should be exposed and will be exposed one day. The rabbit hole will eventually come to an end...

But another fact that must not be forgotten is that a young lady is missing and must be searched for. She must be found and I have faith that she will, in fact, one day be found. And that the guilty will have some very strong Karma heading there way...

Well, TheMythLives, having never heard of this case I will bow to your well researched materials.

Usually stories such as this one miss my attention due to my interest in Government.

Yet another great thread though and thorough research, which has never been a disappointment to me, you have done quite a bit of research.

Starred and flagged, as usual, you do excellent and admirable work.

Human Trafficking is one of those controversial topics because people either know about it, know nothing about it, or believe it is merely fiction.

It is one of those things that happen much more frequently then most people know.

Natalie Holloway, is such a tragic case.

Being someone who knows many investigative techniques, including Open Source Intelligence, a friend of mine I have known for the better part of forteen years now asked me why I do not go into investigating Human Trafficking, and I asked her if she were stupid or thought I had a death wish or something.

Needless to say she was a bit shocked as to my reply and asked what I meant.

I told her quite bluntly, that for the majority of those Human Trafficking cases, a Government is usually involved quite heavily, and I have zero wish to become just another statistic in a disapperance.

While I will look into these things as a Conspiracy Theorist, I'm by no means stupid.

I can literally connect these cases to many avenues where Government, take your pick, is either involved directly, indirectly, or malfeasance is at such a high rate that through attrition, it is inexcuseable.

While I most certainly feel empathy for the Holloway family, I have to say this is no surprise to me, because the issue links to cross border traveling, and what I have to say is a bigger picture issue, the political sale of a program in which the victims are assailed with better ways of tracking the people who go missing which to me, leads to a much deeper rabbit hole.

The only phone call that I know about is someone calling Beth and asking for $4,000 to tell her where her daughter was. Beth refused and said she would give them $1,000. Eventually, some people went over to the meeting place with the cash and no one was there.

But after I looked closer!

I found this:

I doubt they found anything. Sounds like a horrible type of prank. We would have heard something by now I am sure, if the FBI found something. Of course perhaps it is still a good lead, but they were never able to hone in on the signal. Who knows. Interesting to say the least!

All I can say is that if Natalie is dead, I hope karma comes back to whoever killed her. She was a beautiful young lady. I hope she cuts the throat of the one that did her in. Slay the one who slayed,Natalie.Slay the one who slayed.

There is a chance she is alive. While I doubt it, I think that if he is,she is hiding for a reason. She was a beautiful girl, which is why this case was so high profile.

I have often thought that she probably, if killed, was thrown int the ocean. If this is the case, we will never know.

I just wanted to add that Joran's father died just a few days ago of a heart attack during a game of tennis.

I read your thread up until I saw the picture of Natalle. Then I stopped and started taking notes.
I’m not saying I'm psychic but I get glimpses of what is going on and sometimes sounds/voices.
Here is what i have so far.
Once i post this, I will scroll down and continue reading your post and if something comes to me, I will stop and repost of what I see.

Ok I’ve read this far, id I have to admit I was a little shocked at close I was on the first post I did.

Joran to pick up the mark so to speak. Joran plays hard to get and this lures Natalee in more. Natalee is perhaps drugged and then thrown into the car with Deepak, Satish and Joran. Natalee tells her friends that she is ok and that she will be fine. Joran is dropped off by Deepak and Satish at the beach. The two walk on the beach and Joran waits for the man with the boat to arrive.

This part however is the way I see it.

He tries to force himself on her he grabs her around the neck with his arm, he has a rag in his other hand, struggling he holds it to her face she collapses, I think he holds her neck too tight and she collapse, he thinks he killed her he paces up and down scared he keeps putting his hands to his head, in frustration, kicks her, men arrive and they tell him to go shooing him away, they say she is ok, they take her to a white yacht.

i feel she wears a white vale across her face she has lots of eyeliner on, she looks after the children, she protects them, she is the strongest of the women there. they paint on each others skin with black ink. everyone wears white, hard sand everywhere. cool house no glass on windows. she is smart she does as she is told.

When this case first broke out, I thought at first "Yes, this was some stupid girl that got drunk and rode off with three guys that she didn't know." But as the case dragged on and on some of the things came off as suspicious, and then I considered two things (1) What if she was just hanging out with them, and possibly if her drink happened to be drugged and they put a lethal amount in unknowingly and an "accidental death" resulted, Joren possibly in a panic tossed her in the ocean? or (2)She was kidnapped and sold into the sex trade. From reading your post, I think you have done a thorough investigation, compared to those that the authorities did.

These kind of cases freak me out.

Having read about the director of "Hostel", Eli Roth, and how rumours about the activity of trafficking and torture/killing made him come up with the idea to the movie(s) , it sends chills down my spine.

He then, during research ( think it was meant to be kind of a halfish documentary at first ), stumbled upon some evidence and connections, and decided, that if he actually met some of the people involved, it could prove to be very dangerous.

In this sick and twisted world, I wouldn't be surprised if the movies "Hostel" are actually facts presented as fiction, although in an entertainment (?) form.

I'm curious and would like to investigate more on the subject, but I'm not sure I'm up for what one might find.

I know there are other threads on some cases in relation to Hostel, and will edit them in later.

This particular event rings true to me. I was touring the green mountains when I heard about this. Without a shadow of a doubt Joran Vandersloot knew more about what happened.

I have studied this over and over again, something happened between the authorities and vandersloots dad whilst Joran was in prison. I believe they moved the body so that Aruba would not gain negative attention for the holiday season when it came round.

IMO - I don't buy the sex trade story, reason being it was in the news to quickly it was as if 'they' were trying to shift the focus from Aruba to another country. What people don't know is that Jorans dad (he's dead now of course) was a very powerful man who had many many contacts. Straight after this mess as you have pointed out he sent Joran away in order to shift the spotlight from the family. I wonder what skeletons he had to hide? Of course now we will never find out because that lying piece of scum is now 6ft under.

RIP Natalie Holloway.

Thank you as well for the kind words. I have never seen the movie HOSTEL and I do not plan on it either..lol.. But that is very interesting that the plot deals with human trafficking, thats not really a popular movie plot. Hopefully, the movie raised awareness on the subject for those who saw it.

Great thread, Myth! Great to have you back my friend. This case is truly a mystery, and deserving of discussion. I remember watching this case on the news sometime ago, and I said to my mother, "That girl was sold as sex slave." Apparently, it is looking more and more obvious as a result of your in-depth investigation. Also, the angle involving Michael Posner, owner of the Aruban casino were the crime allegedly began, and his alleged link to the "Chicago Outfit," is quite interesting.

They have always been big players in the realm of organized crime with allegation of rigging the election for JFK to win, links to assassination attempts on Fidel Castro, and the inspiration for the Martin Scorsese film, "Casino." Their tentickles reach long and far across both the criminal and political divide. Perhaps, Joran van der Sloot was a bird dog for Mr. Posner and a human trafficking racket? He has been linked to prostitution in the past.

According to federal law enforcement, Michael Posner's most recent mob assignment was boss of illegal rackets in the north suburbs. Posner was convicted in 1987 of threatening wayward gamblers with death and running prostitutes out of this Lake County strip club.

If indeed she was sold into the sex trade, chances are we will never see her again. She could be anywhere now, perhaps, a club or brothel in Budapest, Tokyo, or Jebel Ali to name a few. She may now have dyed hair or cosmetic surgery to conceal her appearance. Or even the psychological toll of such a world could have made her age prematurely. They could have augmented that investigation quite well, if they stood back and not let their egos rule the day. So, why the bickering between law enforcement agencies, and the apparent stalling tactics? Maybe it is a jurisdiction thing, or an order from the top to keep it from getting solved? Tourism is Aruba's cash crop, and any heinous crime affecting an American tourist would no doubt hurt tourism. That is just one angle to look at, as to why the case remains a tangled web of loose ends and rabbit holes. Then the local authorities claim that their case was comprised by the presence of irate parents who demanded anything and everything to get the crime solved. Thus giving conspirators an idea that the authorities may be on to them.

Aruban investigations tend to move at what can seem a leisurely pace. "First, we investigate around [suspects]. We try to establish the facts, look at their backgrounds," says Dompig. "We want to keep them on the outside, where we can watch them, listen to their calls, see what they're saying to each other. If we have to pick them up, we can't look at them, other than in a cell."

The investigation techniques by the Aruban authorities seem reasonable and necessary to gather both physical and circumstantial evidence about the crime with the criminals knowing about it. If Joran committed the crime, he would have known right away to destroy evidence and get his story straight as the Twitty's go all over the television in haste to learn what happened to their daughter. In other words, in the grief and rage, they unknowingly choreographed the movements of an ongoing investigation. Another nail in the coffin of this investigation is the death of a key witness or suspect in the crime.

Joran van der Sloot's father collapsed on Wednesday evening while playing tennis at the Tierra del Sol estate on the Dutch Caribbean island. Emergency service staff were unable to resuscitate him. Paul van der Sloot was 57.

So, a key witness is gone forever and as well as their side of the story. Perhaps, the senior van der Sloot was carrying a secret that was more than he could bear? Either way this story will probably go the way of other mysteries you have delved in Myth. A compromised investigation is the main culprit in this, because who was responsible new first hand by the MSM that an investigation was in progress. Personally, I believe the patient and subtle investigation techniques practiced by the Arubans would have worked wonders in figuring this the one out. However, as the adage goes, "Two many chefs in the kitchen ruin the soup."

So, as it stands now, she is either dancing in some bar at the other end of the world living in constant fear and drugged up most of the time, or at the bottom of the ocean. The thing is, we will never now, just like JFK, MLK, Jimmy Hoffa, and other unsolved crimes. Keep up the good work and I am looking forward to your next installment.
