What can I say? This new article speaks for itself about the persecution of christians under an Islamic society based on the Koran. Ahhh the freedom
of Islam....
r>
A time of harvest is beginning in Iran, amid persecution: Christians have died as martyrs, been tortured and imprisoned. The leader of one underground
church, for example, was hung up by his arms and tortured with electric shocks. However, many Iranians are experiencing Jesus supernaturally. Many -
according to some Christians who have visited the nation - have dreams in which Jesus speaks to them personally, or visions.
According to the leader of one underground church, "it is difficult to find leaders I can trust. I can only trust people who have already been
imprisoned once and did not give away any information." The following are some recent reports; the names have of course been changed.
Why Mullahs respect the Bible
Rumana is 21 years old. She studied Islam for five years, including at a school where the religious leaders (Mullahs) are trained. Someone gave her a
Bible, and she chose to follow Jesus. She dreamed of Jesus, as have many others, and testified about him to the Mullahs - for which she was
imprisoned. In jail, she also told others about Jesus. The guard beat her, and put her on death row.
Through Rumana's testimony, another inmate imprisoned for life chose to follow Jesus, and now sees it as her job to lead other prisoners to Jesus.
After a few weeks, the prison guard who had beaten her also decided to follow Jesus. Rumana was called before the officials, who joked about being
able to decide
how much longer she would have to remain in jail. She replied "God alone decides, not you..." She was released after four months.
Following her release, she gave Bibles to two Mullahs, who ridiculed it - but died within the week.
Now, many Mullahs in Iran treat the Bible with great care and respect.
He who gives his life for his friends...
Police planted opium in the apartment where believers met for prayer, aiming to imprison one of the Christians - the punishment for possession of
drugs is harsh. Ahmed, one of the other Christians, claimed to be guilty himself, and was arrested in place of the police's original target. He was
imprisoned, tortured and almost killed. Source: name and address withheld.

Ahh the freedom of Islam! *sarcasm*
Well I know there are christians that persecute muslims too... but I would venture to guess... that now a days... that percentage is a lot lower then
the percentage of muslims persecuting Christians.
Everyone knows that there are scriptures in the Koran that specifically tell muslims to kill the infidels. Moderate muslims say that scripture was for
that time and it no longer applies. Fundie muslims say it still applies.
NO WHERE in the bible does it say for christians to kill off the infidels or muslims etc. etc.
where am I wrong?
boo yah!

Saddam does not rule his country according to the laws of the Koran. Iran is Islamic because most of the population are Muslims, a large percentage of
whom follow the Koran in the spirit it was intended.
What you quoted is terrible indeed - it reflects one of the consequences of Iran being ruled by a corrupt and sadistic leader. It does not however
reflect a society based on the true teachings of the Koran.
For some intelligent information on the Islamic faith may I recommend this site

in particular the 'ask about islam section'

You know, thats funny....
The socialists here said exactly the same thing about Russia.
"Its not what communism is about" yet like communism advocates cannot show a place where it actually does work. Yet in all places where its used it
certianly doesn't and like communism brings out the worst aspects of humanity....
can this just be an excuse then? a justfication for wrongs that are a part of the culture.
Could it be that Islam only works well in the west?

lol I've just realised something potentially stupid in what I said anyhow. You have been talking about IRAN and after seeing the word IRAQ in front
of my eyes for so long, I saw that instead. However you didn't pick me up on it so I'm not sure if you meant IRAQ too...
however the point you just raised about Islam possibly only working well in the West is a very interesting one, and linked with the comment on
communism seems to also be a very valid one.
In the west we have choice over what religion we follow and that is the way it should be. No faith should ever be enforced on a population be it islam
or any other. Islam in the west is a seperate entity from the government - perhaps the problems start when the two are combined? I know there are
still elements of christian bias in particularly the british government but change is being forced as our society becomes more multi-cultural

*sigh*
(Sura 3:79). "When ye encounter the infidels, strike off their heads till ye have made a great slaughter among them, and of the rest make fast the
fetters"
And who are infidels? The Koran says that all Jews, Christians, and, in fact, all non-Muslims are infidels and must either convert to Islam or, if
possible, be slain, thereafter proceeding to endless torture in hell.
now im sure there are other passages that mention what i am talking about.
and I never said that ONLY muslims were persecuting christians. I KNOW that christians are too persecuting. What I am saying (if you read) is that the
percentage is probably higher on the muslim side... thats all. Im I right? Its a guess that could be wrong. But you missed my point.
Answer me this ...
Where in the Koran does it say God or Allah is "Love"?
is it in there? ill give ya a cookie if you find it!

my qur'an must be different than yours because my sura 3:79 says something other than yours
Where in the Koran does it say God or Allah is "Love"?
*sigh*
try the very first sentence of the qur'an
sura 1:1
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise be to Allah, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the Worlds

im not saying there are different korans. the scripture im reading is from a koran but illumatic denies it... so the only options left... 1) different

well I have a link to a Koran online and sura 3.79 says nothing about infidels, although I did find this
The Disbelievers
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful.
[109.1] Say: O unbelievers!
[109.2] I do not serve that which you serve,
[109.3] Nor do you serve Him Whom I serve:
[109.4] Nor am I going to serve that which you serve,
[109.5] Nor are you going to serve Him Whom I serve:
[109.6] You shall have your religion and I shall have my religion.
