Loved that video. It made me think of my favourite British comic writer who did a whole series about ripping into British celebrity idiots who walk among us.

And yes overall, the training and forced education in our country is at an all time low... and in day to day life from seeing your country men on TV making fools of themselves to being unable to get proper change it can be down right disturbing.

BUT... SOMETIMES I LIKE THIS TREND

There is imho nothing more dangerous than dressing people up and forcing algebra into their tiny little heads and setting them loose in the world "THINKING" they actually are smart...

Often I rather idiots simply be allowed to remain idiots, because I see it done all the time, here, growing up, and 5x worse in Europe...

You take a person who in life is going nowhere, from the 1/2 of us anywhere you are that simply fell lower than the 97-103 IQ span we call average...

Then you put a lot of time into this person, force them to be retained until they can handle the basic math and science info (which they don't understand) and regurgitate it so they are less embarrassing... including politics and issues that effect others...

I DON'T ACTUALLY THINK THE STUPID MASS OF PEOPLE IS SCREWING UP MY COUNTRY...

I'M FAR MORE CONVINCED THE STUPID PEOPLE THAT MADE IT THROUGH SCHOOL PRETENDING THEY ARE SMART AND WHO ACTUALLY BELIEVE IT CAUSE ALL THE DAMAGE....

Politics

working in positions where they have control... They VOTE

People that KNOW they are stupid, don't bother with these things... people that THINK they are smart do and screw the world up for every one else...

It's the person who...reads the Bible or the Koran and get's a few lines that ruins religion, not the scholar and not the person who never picks up the book at all... It reminded us of the time we overheard a man say probably the dumbest thing we'd ever heard anyone say.

This goes all the way back to the mid - 90's, we were backpacking all around Canada for a month, and were in a McDonalds in Victoria, Vancouver Island.

Standing in the queue, we saw a bloke at the counter.

McDonalds girl: "Hi, may i take your order please?"

Man: "Err..yeah...hi! Errmm..how much are the 99 cent cones?"

McDonalds girl (looking exasperated): "Well...they're 99 cents sir!"

Man: "Really? Oh..OK, i think i'll have one of those then"

Absolutely true story. To this day, i've not heard anything more stupid.

Is it true that the government wants to make us dumber? I mean, do they want us to be these people who only work for them and don't have a life? Like the people in "The office", they work in these cubicle and don't know how to act around girls and that kind of stuff. I am planning to have s successful future, but I don't want to work in a cubicle for the rest of my life, it's only WORK, SLEEP, WORK.

It's as easy as this. Half the population statistically has an IQ below 100. Many here on ATS have an above average IQ. Some are within the "gifted" & "genius" brackets. I've seen studies that show if the IQ differs more than 30 points between two people, they have a very hard time understanding each other. So, if your IQ is >130 , you're not going to be understanding most people around you. They won't understand you either. Why you think we find the need to go off into la-la land? We're incredibly bored and disgusted with what we see around us.

However (or indeed BUT), I am British born and bred and starting a sentence with a conjunction has been perfectly acceptable for many years in the country where the language was born. The English Language is an evolving affair (thank god) and according to my copy of Fowlers Modern English Usage, as well as my English and Creative Writing Professors at Bath Spa Uni, starting with such a conjunction is fine in even formal writing and is called an anapodoton. It is even more acceptable in informal writing such as on internet forums. But but but...please continue to attempt to admonish me over my usage of 'but' even though you are wrong. In the words of many on this board 'I could care less'.

No you'd be the sort of HALF Smart person I fear... Thinking that you have a brain when you have zero idea what you are talking about.

1: You HAVE to wear sunglasses, the sun pokes in and out all day during a storm and where I am you would instantly go snow blind and could hurt yourself...

2: This happens to be Arizona, just at really high altitude... The temperature is often quite warm when it is snowing, it is no uncommon to see people skiing in shorts and t-shirts I have done the same many times before...

Yes Bikini skiing is a real phenomena here...

So my no gloves atm in that picture is meaningless... and I have a zippered shirt which is open...

That's called Layers, you need layers here because right there it is warm, but the temp can drop 50 degrees in 2 hrs...

3: If you had powers of deductive reasoning you'd be able to figure out a few things like...

Mid storm, I had just been shoveling... (shoveled several TON of snow btw that day) so I was HOT

Or maybe... that my gloves were taken off to handle the Camera?

now, i understand there are some people who are relatively smart and still don't have a good handle on perfect grammar.

but misspelling simple words like friend and weird.
i really saw a person dumb down because to 'becuz.' i found this really strange since its only saving ONE keystroke and the 'z' is about as hard for most to type as 'au' but i guess i'm too picky, anyway. who really cares, right? i guess its just hard to continue reading or taking seriously anything people say who cannot spell small words, or at least use spell check.
sometimes i really feel like i'm talking to 12-year-olds here on ATS anymore, its pathetic. :/
