Nature is balance... and what ever it takes to "get to that balance".

All this "light and love business", as you put it, is - imho - just the expression of one of the extremes on this kind of feeling/energy (love, hate, bliss, terror)... which seems to counterweight the other end of this equation, which is eloquently evident in your post.
