5 Americans Detained in Pakistan

www.time.com

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan) — Pakistani police say they have detained five U.S. citizens in a raid on a house in the east of the country.

Police officer Tahir Gujjar declined to say why the men were arrested Wednesday in the town of Sargodha.
(See pictures of a Pakistan police academy under fire.)

He says three of the men are Americans of Pakistani descent, one is of Egyptian descent and the other is of Yemeni heritage.

He says they are being interrogated by senior police officers.

Well I wonder what this is about?

No information, the embassy is staying moot about the whole ordeal.

No other coverage on the MSM websites as far as I can tell. Strange indeed.

Iran took a few of our hostage a few weeks ago didn't they? And now Pakistan?

What kind of problems withthis cause between our government and theirs.

Any thoughts?

cia agents and their ilk undercover?
If little else is reported on this my curiousity will be piqued. "sorry about blowing your undercover", or something like that.
I am an american in pakistan, and I am of pakistani descent.
I probably have relatives there.
What am I doing to get myself arrested??
Why did he decline to say the reason/s for the arrest?

That's actually a very reasonable answer.

I would not surprise me that Pakistan would bust CIA covers from operating in their territory.

I think there's alot of tension at the diplomatic and foreign policy level that they are keeping under wraps at the moment.

Without any additional information I would guess that it is either
(A) In retaliation for, or
(B) Relating to the criminal charges that the FBI just filed against a Pakistani Retired Major, and 2 Pakistan Nationals, (one is Pakistan PM's Public Relations Officers brother) due to their (alleged) involvement staging the Mumbai attacks for the LET, and planning attacks in Denmark.

The FBI will be in Pakistan to take coustody of the major (if possible) on Monday.
Daood Gilani and Tahawwur Hussain Rana are already in custody in the U.S.
