The system is going to stay the same, the same it's always been,

With this kind of attitude you will always loose. Imagine Dr King said that regarding the civil rights movement, or President washington said that in the case of the British and their grip on america?

It is possible to move DC away from the two party system, and obviously there are those in DC that would have you believe otherwise...and you my friend are only doing their bidding.

Why don't you run for president? I'm sure with all the knowledge you have you would do just fine

Yes, since someone suggested that there is a (very clearly evident) problem in our government, you should try to implicitly attack an individual by joking that sense they CLEARLY said they have all the answers and only merely presented our current situation he should run for office.

I hate people like you. Dry wit with no thought put into it other than for the blind support of the current situation. "They got voted in and have all those degree's and are always on TV, they must be right!"

2012, I predict, will be won by an Independent.

2012 will be run by Sarah Palin. I can't think of a stupider person for the job.

And a continuation, while I don't exactly enjoy the sentiments of intrepid in the 202 forum in your thread, trying to perpetuate a conflict between the two of you is equally as negative as intrepid proclaiming he knows all and knows the truth.

I know I will be voting the 3rd party this year. In the name of "peaceful change" this will be my first year choosing to vote. I have chosen to opt out of the corrupt system for the past 4 years of my eligibility. However, come this November we will see how everyones attempt at "peaceful change" goes.

And some 2012, who knows. Jesse, Ron, should be good. A Ron Paul/Jesse Ventura ticket would be wondrous.

Personally, as I have stated before, I feel that the American people are going to EPIC FAIL once again this year and vote in Repubs and Dems. Time will go on as usual and this who talk of Congressional "revolution" is going to pass by as a joke.

Then I will continue to be told that "Peaceful change works! It really does!" and I will continue to laugh at those who truly believe it possible with how corrupt this system actually is.

Oh well, I hope I am proven wrong. I really, truly, honestly do.

R. Paul and J. Ventura would get my vote also. But they are not corporate whores so they don't stand a chance in hell of mounting the megabuck campaign that it takes to sway the proletariat.

I will support a 3rd party with money, time and my vote if they can pull together something that even resembles a cohesive effort.

In fact I'll vote Liberterian, Socialist, Bull Moose, anything as a protest if I'm still in the country. My GF and I are looking at condos south of San Carlos or Topolobampo on the west coast of Mexico. At least in Mexico the corruption can work to the benifit of all.... not just the elite.

I have a habit of voting third and independent myself. It hasn't done me a lot of good outside of my local area, but I feel better anout it.

There is no way I could vote for bob barr. His swing from federalist to libertarian was so fast I'm surprised he didn't get whiplash.

You make a great point here! If you want to have a strong third party emerge, you must vote in every election you are eligible for! A party must be built from the local to the national levels. It's all great to run a presidential candidate, but if the big two still control everything else it's not going to matter if they win or loose!

This is also a great place for you, the citizen to get involved in politics! Run for city council, school board, or mayor. If all of the people that are sick of the two-party system in the United States did not just vote for a third party but actually participated to build one, it would be quite strong indeed!

"Those who seek power are invariably the least fit to hold and wield it."
~Plato

He understood, perhaps instinctively, or perhaps from examples around him, that those who would self-anoint, self-proclaim, self-credential themselves as "leaders" to be considered "above" those they purport to "lead" demonstrate a level of hubris, absolute certainly, malignant narcissism and megalomania that is extremely dangerous as much as it is extreme aphrodisiac. While I wouldn't consider this a fit for all, it is a fit for most in the elite power circles.

Food for thought...
