While watching the LCROSS impact, I noticed this image appearing on screen.

I know my mind will construct things to be easily recognizable, like faces in the texture of wallpaper, etc, etc ... but this is weird.

Here are some things I noticed about this picture.

- I see a head, 2 arms, 2 hands, a torso, 2 legs.

- Ape looking head. (Angry Ape)
- Furled eyebrows (That is why i said Angry Ape)
- Turned down lips... Snarling almost...
- Right arm is point to the sky or something else.
- Left arm is out stretched to his left
- Seems extremely proportionate, but legs are a little short.

Anyway, I'm not sure I'd get too excited. But maybe, just maybe, Apes play a bigger part in our history then we know...
I'm trying to think of a segway for the planet of the apes, but unfortunately cannot...

And in case you don't see it...

Hope you find it interesting at least.

No...

Pareidolia would be an understatement...

Are you people serious with these threads?

Come on . . . this kind of stuff is not helping the credibility of this site.

If you want to look for bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air . . .

Go look at some clouds!

Hi mate,

What you are experiencing here is a classic case of Pareidolia

Explanation of pareidolia

Basically this is when you look at clouds, landscapes or pieces of toast and see dragons, gorillas or Jesus.

It's a very natural and common thing for our brain to do.

As soon as you highlighted that shap I could see that gorilla in the moon ... Most of our ATS members will now be able to see that gorilla in the moon ...

However, it is not significant ... no more than the man in the moon is ...

Hang on ... gorilla and man ... they are both primates ... hang on ... could there be a connection ... could this be a sign!!?? ...

... Just kidding

Guess you didn't get that memo.

Actually, I thought it fit right in with the last thread I read.

If you want to look for bows and flows of angel hair and ice cream castles in the air . . .

Go look at some clouds!

Yes, I eluded to that in my second sentence... re: Pareidolia & clouds

Besides, its dark outside, I can't see the clouds. So I was reading about Moon bases and castles right here on this site and apprehensively posted this.

From the title i knew it HAD to be good lol.
Yeah the two craters and the black area underneath look like one of the battle toads to me. Do yo think battle toads 2 is on the moon?

MONKEYS ON THE MOON

(Kraemer, MacNeil)

The archangel's sleeping.
The devil is weeping.
The heavenly host
is white as a ghost.

The old man himself is
mad as a loon
'cause all his kids are
singing a tune.
Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!

Monkeys on the moon.
Monkeys on the moon.
See how they bounce from
dune to dune
Came a long way in a gold
cocoon.
All the way from a green
balloon.
Just to plant flags for the big
baboon.
Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!

Saturn is blinking.
Jupiter's winking.
And old Sol's thinking.
His system is sinking.
But who's to say if it's
bad or a boon.
When all the kids are singing
a tune.
Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!

Used to be so peaceful in space.
Now there's hot-rods all over the place.
And old Lady Moon, in her silvery grace
now has these words tattooed
on her face.
Better get ready! It's coming soon!
Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!

Long time from now
in a place very far.
In the court of a castle
on a star.
A mad jester tunes
his fiery guitar.
And with a grin he says
to the Czar:
I'm gonna sing you a
ancient tune.
"Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!"

Monkeys on the moon.
Monkeys on the moon.
See how they bounce from
dune to dune.
Came a long way in a gold
cocoon.
All the way from a green
balloon.
Just to plant flags for the big
baboon.
Look out pa!
There's monkeys on the moon!

The following is my opinion as a member participating in this discussion.

Yes, I would say Donkey Kong has finally made it to the moon.

I agree with the others. This is a clear clear case of Pareidolia.

I mean, why would there be a big drawing on the surface of the moon of Donkey Kong? I cant even imagine any logic behind the reason.

As an ATS Staff Member, I will not moderate in threads such as this where I have participated as a member.

Well, I really do see a Ape there. hmmm, whats that word... Pareidolia... yes I know...

But yes, it was meant somewhat humorously... thus the reference to planet of the apes, the winks & whatnot...
