That's very vague, but "what if scenarios" about history can tell us a lot about the various lenses people adopt in the present. The fact is that Spain expelled its Muslim population when Columbus set foot in the Caribbean and the conquest came after a long clash of religious civilizations in Europe and the Middle East.
The disputed claims of Columbus' heritage, and claims of early Islamic presense in the Americas were some of the issues raised, which are rarely discussed. As one of my first threads it's not well framed, but I still found the contributions fascinating and informative.
Even according to official history Columbus could only sail when overland paths to Asian trade were cut-off, and Columbus had hoped to reach Asia by sailing West.
