Looking for a leader, Tea Partiers issue invite to Palin

politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com

As the Tea Party Express makes its way across the country, Sarah Palin has emerged as a favorite daughter of the movement, and organizers have invited her to join the tour — or at least come to the final stop in the nation's capital.

The bus is scheduled to end its nationwide journey in Washington on Saturday, September 12.

"We've been in touch with her people, letting her know the response that we've gotten. She's very suportive of the movement," says Joe Wierzbicki, one of the organizers traveling on the Tea Party Express.

The Tea Party movement started by Ron Paul supporters has been hijacked, Sarah Palin is no Ron Paul. This is just ridiculous and i'm highly pissed. These conservatives weren't protesting with us whenever Ron Paul was running, why the sudden change in heart?

If Sarah emerges as any kind of leader in the Tea Party movement, count me out, i'll start a new thing.

Sorry if this is already posted, I didn't see it when I searched, so close it if it's already been posted.

Yeah what is this crap?

Trying to hijack AGAIN the movement... disgusting!

Sarah Palin is a fool or a tool, any way you put it, she's BAD NEWS.

Mainstream medias are trying to label tea parties as racists republicans, not what they really are : people fed up with both parties, big government and the FED.

I invite everyone to go post comments on his blog to tell him how wrong he is.

As a true independent, Isay adding Palin is like failing.
Just when I thought we had a movement. . .

Will someone please tell her she can make more money in porn than politics, That should get rid of her.

If Sarah Palin joins in this....it will STINK of partisan BS and completely ruin any chance of Liberals joining it. In fact, it may actually scare them away if they are already a part of it.

Stupid.

Sarah Palin is a cancer. Palin is not a person that can unite the country. She can unite Republicans...but that's about it.

Thats what those with power do to threatening movements. If they can not squash them they join in and Co-opt them. Just look to the History of the Know nothing party for precedent.

Sad but true.

You may want to get a head start looking for a new group... that or be there to boo Palin. I can only imagine what support like hers could do for the movement.

Sometimes, I wonder if Sarah Palin isn't no more than a Republican tool to keep the Democrats distracted. As soon as Palin's name is mentioned, the Democrats come out screaming and biting in an effort to discredit her. No doubt in my mind that they will go after her and the tea party if she becomes their leader.

IMO, she has already lost her shot at the big one. Wouldn't surprise me if the Republicans were in the process of grooming their next leader while the Dems are focused on Palin.

Yeah, she is going to destroy this movement, I wonder what Ron Paul will have to say about this.

Palin is no conservative, she wants to stick with the same monetary policy, same outrageous spending.

If the new tea partiers were actually serious about fisical responsibility then they wouldn't put Palin up as a leader, this just shows that all they want to do is put a Republican back in the White House.

Yeah, this is what we need. Palin taking over the non-Partisan tea parties. Wonderful. She should keep her nose out of it. She supports the globalist agenda.

That's just priceless. Starred

That's really all I have to add. These tea parties were nothing more than a sham from the beginning. Even if they were legit and well-intended, they would never gain enough momentum and power to change anything.

On with the status quo!

As much as I like Palin, I don't think she should be the figure head of the tea party movement. The movement shouldn't be about Republicans, Democrats, the Religious right, or Atheists on the far left.

If anything the Tea party movement should be "Anti Partisan".

Part of the reason we are where we are at now is due to stupid partisan politics and political party loyalty over national loyalty.

WTF that's all I gotta say, WTF...

Its amazing, simply... amazing at how fast the msm and republican party killed and discredited the tea party movement.. imo, it shows how peacful solutions are damn near impossible!

Just for offering that stupid wench a spot to speak, I will NEVER support the teaparty movment again.. its a diseased waste now, destroyed by the hyper religious Republican Party.

Teaparty goers generally despise both parties.. god, can't even say how utterly disgusted I am... I need to leave this country...

I'm looking over the "Tea Party Express". Their website is here: teapartyexpress.org...

This is paid for by "Our Country Deserves Better PAC" whose site is here:
www.ourcountrydeservesbetter.com...

These people do not represent the actual Tea Party movement.
From their website:

Our Country Deserves Better PAC is leading the fight to champion the Reaganesque conservatism of lower taxes, smaller government, strong national defense, and respect for the strength of the family as the core of a strong America.

Our nation's future is at stake, and we must stand up to Barack Obama and the Democrat-controlled Congress.

So this is more or less crap and political hijacking spin.

So no worries Sarah Palin isn't taking over the Tea Party

It HAS been hijacked, why was this new so called movement created when it already existed well before a democrat was in the White House?

To discredit it, to put the spotlight on this movement?

This movement has nothing to do with being a true conservative and having good monetary policy, it was created to put a neo-con back in the White House.

My point is that there was already a TEA PARTY movement, what is the purpose of creating a new movement that already existed and had the exact same name? Because it went against what modern republicans stand for? And not what the 1st Tea Party movement stood for?

I smell a conspiracy.

I think the GOP leadership would love to dump Palin on the tea party movement so when she goes down permanently it's gonna make the movement look bad not the republicans.

One way to get away from any neo con hijacking would be to totally distance the movement from the existing political parties.

My suggestion would be to make the tea party movement into the Tea Party as a political party or an anti-party.

I agree.
If it wasn't all so pathetic, I would be laughing still!
God and guns rule I guess......
Oh and wars are cool too apparently!
This is pure entertainment!
Like a car(or maybe train would be better)wreck,
you know its ugly but you have to look anyway.

Edit to replace bad with ugly.

Exactly what I mean.

The original Tea Party has been hijacked, Sarah Palin is changing the game.

If she wins the Republican primary in 2012 we can all look forward to another Obama presidency full of wasteful spending, government bail outs, more wars, a depression, and more government control. It doesn't matter though, we would also see this under a Palin presidency, god forbid that ever happens.
