LONDON, England (CNN) -- You don't want to monkey around on a blind date, especially if your friends are also taking an interest in the same dark, handsome stranger.

So when three female gorillas at London Zoo heard that they would soon be visited by a brooding French hunk -- well, they went a bit bananas.

I just saw this and wanted to share. It's a cute story and yet another example of how intelligent our primate relatives are and how they have emotions and react much like humans do....sans eating the picture.

There he will be greeted by gorilla trio Zaire, Effie and Mjukuu, who were given posters of their prospective boyfriend for the first time Thursday.

One female gorilla shrieked in delight, while another wedged the poster in a tree to stare at it.

A third, clearly overcome by emotion, held the photo close to her chest -- then ate it.

Aww... how cute. i guess even the animals can feel love too, I guess we can't kill them if they have emotions, huh? Score one for PETA.

They should do a study to see if human women act the same way, and even parallel the study.

I'm sure they can find a crazy bi*** who will eat the picture.

I can see this being a "challenge" on next seasons The Bachelor.

I would bet dollars to doughnuts that someone has done it before...I mean, if that former Astronaut lady drove cross country w/a diaper on...anything is possible.

Makes you wonder how much emotion and feelings and such animals really do have....


Personally, i don't think i would eat the picture...
