And the Russia Today is a joke newspaper you know... they put fake artikles out all the time.
There was one on the same page of a Russian woman getting revenge on a robber... was a hoax. Tabloid is a better term.

So I dont know how much credence you should put into their Russian navy claims. They say anything for ad revenue... like a tabloid.

An object that large would displace enough water to drastically and noticeably alter the shoreline.

You could always compare the ice circle photo to earlier winters. As the shoreline would obviously be different in the summer due to heat.
