Lets you and I kill this bill

americandaily.com
It is amazing the lengths this administration and the democrat majority will go to, to get your guns, while we are watching and holding our breath on cap and trade and Obama care they are attempting to back door another bill, HR 2159. What HR 2159 is, is granting permission to the Attorney general to bar the sale of guns to terrorists and potential terrorists, you know us domestic terrorist. If this bill is passed it will give her the power to deny us the right to buy a gun based on her suspicions. Thereby usurping our 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms, they do not require any real pro

But do they stop? They are going to ram their agenda down our throats if it kills them!

Well it's up to the citizenry to be aware and vigilant to what these guys do in Washington. Then it's up to us to write, call, email, our reps in Washington and demand they do the right thing.

Democracy is not automatic, if left alone these idiots will destroy this country.

I'm hoping next time Congress gets a 4000 page document they will at least take the time to read it before voting.

The sneaky back door control advocates wont stop. Thanks for writing your representative.

Ive got similar similar responses, especially from the Governors’ office; although I did get action once and was thrilled beyond belief. This governor is worthless.

Really, to be fair, how is that sneaky? It says it right in the title of the bill.

Are you referring to them using all the other BS going on to try and slide this through on the sly? That's the American peoples fault. We are the ones responsible to be aware of what is going on in our government. If we don't keep a weather eye on those people, who will?

I don't know if you do this, but it does help.

Write call and email every week. Eventually they will get to know you and you will start receiving real letters from them.

Some issues that they don't care about they will still send you the standard FU form letter. But eventually once you get in their head as a concerned citizen they will start to respond to you slowly.

It's kinda like legalized stalking. If they are to appear at a public event. Be there. Show up and really dig into them about things. They will give you a couple of minutes if you aren't obviously insane.

But always be on their ass about every issue that concerns you. Every single time they propose legislation make sure your voice is heard. That's all you can do. Otherwise there is no representation. You have to be your own lobbyist.

What I meant was that since they couldnt sneak HR 2159 in to the cap and trade bill they will most likely find another bill to sneak it in, if this fails. It isnt hidden anymore here. That's why we want to stop it.

The Obama admin. is worried about something, since DOD, NSA, DHS are all on full alert. Some claim the flu is the cause. I dont buy it.

Many want to do away with the Electoral College. Or do you mean the civil unrest and blocking media outlets. Yes that could happen here if there was a national emergency declared or if our Constitution gets replaced with treaties.

If things get worse and we have a Dictator it would cause SHTF fairly quickly. I’m still not sure if I’m following you?

Oh, it's more just a way of looking into the future, for a fantasy, conspiracy thing.

Could things in America get as dictatorial, as what you see in Iran. You see organizations being formed by Obama government funding which could evolve into something similar to the paramilitary basiji of Iran. The basiji are the guys bashing heads on the streets of Teheran.

If you look at stuff like the Whackman-Malarkey bill being pushed quietly through government with bribes of power, you see that bill is going to allow the government to micro-manage people's lives. Hell, they're going to watch you flush your toilets. So you have to ask yourself are those two possible indications of government movements in a particular direction a red flag of coming dictatorial control.

Once you have those 2 things mentioned - para-military, and micro-management of society - you have a climate making something like the riots in Teheran possible.

Again though, the one thing road-blocking such dictatorial controls - Americans have guns.

Good insight and yes we still have guns. Let's hope it stays that way.

I see your point and agree it seems we are headed in that direction.

Peter King, a republican, from New York is the "brain-stem" that is introducing this bill.

I guess it is just further proof that this isn't a left or right issue. It's an us vs them issue.

This is most surprising. I've had respect for Peter King for a long time now, so I decided to investigate this bill.

* There are already many laws on the books controlling firearms, such as title 18, United States Code

* It appears that King is closing a loophole that some may exploit to supply arms to terrorists.

My benefit of the doubt goes to King. Until I hear further about this, I trust him to do what is right. Here is a summary of the bill:

Denying Firearms and Explosives to Dangerous Terrorists Act of 2009
To increase public safety by permitting the Attorney General to deny the transfer of a firearm or the issuance of firearms or explosives licenses to a known or suspected dangerous terrorist.

I know the words 'suspected terrorists' are what frightens people. I would be sorely disappointed if Rep. King intended anything malicious. For now, I will wait and watch.
