If we were to write a Declaration today, taking into account the history of our first declaration, what would it look like? Well, I gave it a go, and this is what I came up with.

When in the course of Human events it becomes necessary to dissolve the
realities prescribed for the masses, and to establish Truth where the tenets of
Honesty are missing, it becomes our duty to advance the movements of Truth
and Liberty, to respect and enforce the Natural Rights of Man that the God of
Nature hath bestowed upon us.

Human history has shown that a people vulnerable to despotism suffer the most when the veil of secrecy is cast upon them, for it is this veil that hides the crimes and transgressions of the leadership to be carried out in the name of the people these guards are supposed to represent.

The Declaration of Independence of the Original 13 colonies dictates that the most heinous of grievances be enumerated. We must declare our independence as we have been left to it without recourse or representation for some years.
Let it be known the crimes of the Federal Government:

1. The suspension of the Writ Habeas Corpus: Thus allowing that citizen and non-citizen alike be imprisoned indefinitely without charge or trial, without the benefit of counsel, without benefit of examining evidence, and be subject to punishments cruel and unusual.

2. Entangling the nation in foreign conflicts, and engaging in military action without declaration of war: By committing the Armed Forces of the United States, and the National Guard of the Several States to war without legal recourse, without evidence of clear and imminent threat, without clear strategy, and without the means of finance.

3. The Creation of the Department of Homeland Security and the Expansion of Power of the National Security Agency: The creation of institutions of espionage for the purpose of spying on the American people without Due Process of the Law.

4. The Federal Reserve System: The creation of a central banking institution that has resulted in these United States being cast into the abyss of unsustainable and unpayable debt.

5. Members of congress and other Federal Officials have called for, and taken steps to form programs of involuntary servitude.

6. The Federal Government has used the Interstate commerce clause of the US Constitution to restrict the regular flow of goods and services through regulation intended to single out smaller competition. Under this very modus operandi the Federal Government has also ceded National sovereignty to multinational-corporate interests including the international banking and energy industries.

7. The members of the Federal Regime have engaged in the pilfering of public funds for corporate welfare programs opposed by the majority of the People.

8. Members of the Federal Regime have manipulated the vote of the people in regional and national elections to influence the outcome.

9. The Federal Regime has infringed, and continues to infringe on the Right of the People to keep and Bear Arms in attempts to disarm and subjugate the people.

10. The Federal Regime has engaged in a military propaganda campaign against the people of these United States in order to garner moral support for an illegal, undeclared war, by the insertion of Pentagon political operatives in nearly all media organizations.

11. The Federal Regime and Government have targeted political dissidents and publicly declared them terrorists for political purposes.

12. The Federal Government has engaged in fraud by manipulating economic data, accounting data, and statistical data to misinform the public as to the true nature of the Nation’s finances. Members have taken bribes in the form of “campaign contributions” by private interests in order to influence public policy.

13. The Federal Government has established a Tax Code System so pervasive and large that it has become, in practice, taxation without representation. Today it threatens to reduce the Nation to poverty.

14. The Federal Regimes and Government have by legislation subjected the American people to unreasonable searches and seizures and gross violations of privacy that the Federal Government would never tolerate in turn.

15. The Federal Government has created a “Constitution Free zone” extending 100 miles inland from all borders in an effort to subvert the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the land in nearly 2/3 of the Nation.

16. The Federal Government has refused to enforce immigration laws leaving the Nation vulnerable to waves of illegal immigrants and potential international terrorists.

In each instance the American people, using their Constitution as a guide, have petitioned the government for a redress of grievances, be it by vote, protest, or direct contact. All attempts, peaceful in nature, have been met with contempt and answered with further injury to the Rights of the Several States and the People. Such injustices have been suffered patiently. History shows that such a patient suffering of injustices are natural to the People, as the People are often reluctant to fundamentally change or dissolve the establishments to which they are accustomed. But when these establishments become destructive to the Liberty of the People, it is their right and duty to establish new government, and new guards to their future security:

Therefore, We the Undersigned Declare our Independence from the Tyranny of the Federal Government and it’s regimes. And to this end we pledge our lives, our fortunes, and our Sacred Honor.

Anyone care to sign on?

I have this posted on my online gallery as well. I though I'd give it as much exposure as possible. projectvxn.deviantart.com...

Do you suppose writing something like this could get me in alot of trouble? It does kind of worry me, these days expressing opinion is terrorism. A document like this could be exactly what we may see in the near future.

Long have I been waiting for someone to complete such a task. I have read over the Declaration many a night pondering what I might put in it and exactly what would justify its "re-declaration" so to speak. However, in my mind you have summarized to the best of my knowledge, exactly what the document needs to say.

Flag and star for sure. I would sign this document in a heartbeat and I feel that for any of us who do feel the pull of our liberties being threatened as I do, would do the same.

Much obliged good sir.

I thought long and hard before posting this here and on my gallery page. A post like this can get a knock on my door. I'm not even a US citizen yet, so I am a little worried about how this may be construed. I don't wanna find out some day that I am on a list somewhere for voicing the opinion of most Americans. After I wrote this New Declaration I realized that both the concerns of the liberals and conservatives are voiced here. And it made me realize that the one thing we all truly care about is this nation. The "issues" are secondary. Liberty is important to us all.

Thanks everyone for all the stars and flags. But I would like to hear more opinions, and get more feedback on this. Make your voice heard, even if it is a shout among many.

i am a citizen and i agree with everything in this. i do beleive it needs to be touched up, but i don't know exactly where, but it is a great start...

i cant beleive someone who isn't even an American caring about American issues. are we so silly enough to not realize whats happening in this country to not even take a stab at something like this.

i contemplated this idea a few weeks ago, and im glad someone brought it up, but i didn't think it would be someone who isn't a natural born citizen.

If i could S&F this again, i would, and i wish more people would reply to this too... something like this would be great to discuss.

By all means spread it around all you'd like. But just remember that something like this could cause a lot of trouble. So be careful what you do.

Well here's the thing...There's no where else to go. Period. No where. My family escaped tyranny in Cuba, to achieve poverty in Costa Rica, To achieve success and liberty in the US. I have a brother in the Army today, I feel I have something at stake here, because I have given quite a bit, and gratefully, as a gift in return for the hospitality and generosity. I made it a point to learn the Constitution, learn my rights, and learn how to preserve them. And I will do and say what I must to make sure these principles are upheld in a timeless manner.

America is not just a nation it's an ideal. It is a different world altogether, a place where thought is supposed to be allowed to flourish, and injustices stamped out. There is no reason why it cannot be so again.

AN idea, pass this around on myspace, facebook, myyearbook, ats, and any other networking/messaging board site you can think of and see how many signatures we can get. with 10,000 signatures it can be presented in a court of law...
just an idea...
i got over 5k friends on myspace, if just 10% sign that's 500, multiplied by as many members as there are on ats..
just think of the possibility, seriously

Feel free to spread it around all you'd like. The best way would be to make it go viral. I have no idea how to do it, but I have already placed it on my gallery, my myspace page, and facebook account. (all available in my ATS profile if anyone cares). I wrote it, if you wanna take it and run with it be my guest, I've done my part.

A couple things I would like to add to your work.

* Whereas there is no longer a method to petition for redress of grievances.

* The legislature has transferred most of it's powers to the executive branch and private corporation (such as the Federal Reserve).

* Whereas through the Military Commissions Act & Police Powers Act para-military troops were used to disarm citizens, in an attempt to circumvent the constitution.

* Whereas there will never be investigation into anyone in a high office as not to "destabilize" and take our focus off of perpetual FEAR mongering.

I'm not as articulate as you but you get my drift.

Starred, flagged

and signed.

if the federal govt. doesn't like it, I'm sure they know where I live, I DARE them to come and get me
I'll be ready. Will they?

More on topic though. I'm not sure if making it viral would be enough... let alone make it "official" so to speak. The founding fathers had their declaration sent to the king. I believe that after having it go viral through out the U.S. it would have to be sent to the govt. Silly? Perhaps, but it MIGHT (using the term VERY loosely) get them to think (something they haven't done in a while in the govt. it seems)

Signed. The Question.

This is my first post here, however i am not new to the site. I was also compiling notes and researching this exact topic, but you have worded it so much better than I could.

I think you should add in something about The Posse Comitatus Act, Military Cooperation with Civilian Law Enforcement Agencies Act, and the Insurrection Act pertaining to the disarmament of US Civilians during natural disaster, epidemic, or other serious public health emergency, terrorist attack or incident, or other condition. Although it does not say anything about disarmament the bills, we all know what happened during Hurricane Katrina...

"Other Condition"...WTF???

Also I would like to see something about the "War on some drugs" in there and also how the government was complicit in bringing drugs into the US to fund an "coup" in another country.

if you earned your right to be here, displaced or not due to conditions elsewhere being immense, and then you come here, with your intellect and cunning insight (see your constitution) you should be given immediate citizenship for this contribution if it gets out there.

if we all have to work hard to gain our founding fathers dreams back, then lets fight hard!!!

This brilliant message could be the catalyst, which contains the precise resonance frequency that will finally awaken the sleeping giant, the people of America.

“Don’t Tread on" ... the United States!
