Question is, why are the legs folding up some, when we are getting a pretty good pressure hit?

Very interesting article out today:

www.doomdaily.com...

Scientists have found two large leaks in Earth’s magnetosphere, the region around our planet that shields us from severe solar storms. With all the activity surrounding the Sun this surely will have consequences.

The leaks are defying many of scientists’ previous ideas on how the interaction between Earth’s magnetosphere and solar wind occurs: The leaks are in an unexpected location, let in solar particles in faster than expected and the whole interaction works in a manner that is completely the opposite of what scientists had thought.

With the Sun about to go into Solar Maximum in 2012 and the Earth with a massive hole in it could be cause for alarm.

"Doom Daily"?
Odd they don't seem to provide a source.

Here is a link that may help everyone stop worrying about today
www2.nict.go.jp...
scroll down and select 12-16-2006
There was a lot more intense activity that day and everything is still ok.
I can't speak for tomorrow, or the day after that, or the day after that.

It is just what it is at this moment.

The right side shows there is pressure and the Earth is getting some solar flare. The magnetosphere is not fully out (in a jellyfish - kind of way) and the (what I call at times - legs) are not fully spread.

to Brokenheadphones - to say I am "causing fear" by putting up pictures of what the magnetosphere is doing - is wrong on all basis.

Besides - haven't you also put up pictures of the magnetosphere?

I have been watching the magnetosphere FOR A VERY LONG TIME! I am quite aware of how it should be - as we are getting impacted by a solar flare.

ALSO - I have not in any of these postings with the pictures - have said anything other than an observation!!

Cheers
