Ok, I hate to do this but I'm going to anyway.
For a thread latecomer, can you please give me a brief synopsis of what we're looking at here? What are the important indicators and what are they
indicating?

This is a top down representation of the Earth's magnetosphere created by the NICT simulation from ACE satellite data.
The black dot in the middle is Earth, and the colors around indicate the amount of pressure in each area of the magnetosphere. The scale goes from
low pressure (very light blue) to high pressure (white)

Ok, think of the Earth as a ship in the ocean. The bow of the ship would be the magnetosphere. As spaceship Earth travels through an ocean of
energy, if the waves (of energy) get choppy, the wave compresses as the bow cuts through it - does that make sense?
(crude analogy) but yeah, hopefully this helps?
There are no stupid questions.

We are getting some action and the magnet field is nicely flared out too.

Remember it's not about what is happening to the Sun today - it's about what is happening on Earth today!
Everyone should be watching this huge event taking place right now as the earth is getting a huge blast.
www2.nict.go.jp...
Also - should we be watching to count how many waves we get. It looks like it subsided and then picked up again? That may have been one of the clues
in the crop circle that I picked up on.

Maybe it would be easier on our eyes if you shrink or crop the images you post?
Do you know how to do this?

Yes all very nice those pretty pictures, and those graphs look very technical.

No clue on how to shrink the image. It is the image I copy from the site and that is how big it is.

Good point.
They mean that everything is just fine. There is no event happening in the magnetosphere nor was there when the sunspots were producing flares. The
sunspot group which was producing low level flares for a couple of days is decaying.

Sorry
Please - that is not right to ask people to post about a certain subject in another thread that is about another subject all together.
Yours is a thread on the SUN not the magnetosphere.
The magnetosphere actually deserves it's own thread - just as the sun deserves it's own thread now.
Thanks
Cheers
