i think this relates to the real reason why the fly over took place

Military officials estimate the mission and the photo shoot, aimed at updating file photos of Air Force One -- cost $328,835 in taxpayer money.

a bit too much to pay for photos

What a load of bull. I feel really bad for Caldera. The President approved it! Where's his resignation? Now that he's out of the office, maybe he'll spill the beans.

Could the Air Force of not just, photoshopped it, instead of scaring everyone shtlss, and costing me money. Could they not of just flown the plane over a deserted away, then photoshopped it in a picture. I mean Iran did it with their missiles?

Just seems silly the whole thing.

If you read the actual White House report on the incident, you will find that Caldera had little to do with it. The Deputy Director and the 89th Airlift Group had the most input on it, and Caldera volunteered to take the blow, it seems.

Haha, got to love CNN and NBC. They will cover for Obama no matter what. I got a laugh out of the "The President was reportedly furious over flight." I wonder if that's the case? I wouldn't be surprised if CNN just decided to add that little tidbit.

Do you mean to suggest that the entire affair was an eloborate ruse to secure the resignation of Louis Caldera? I'm not sure what other possible "real reasons" for the flight were offered in the linked story...

I guess the buck doesn't stop withObama...what a punk, delegating blame..the lowest of political traits.

I am sure Caldera has been more than compensated for his scapegoatism. Anything to ensure Obama's reputation is not tarnished in anyway.

well I have seen the video recently.

I was amazed how low it flew and how scared the people were.

really sick stunt to pull and I don't understand why O didn't fire the guy, it would have given him better publicity than to let him quit.

It is useful to remember in the earlier thread that many were screaming for Caldera to resign or be fired.

Now that he has done so, why continue flaming? Perhaps he did fall on his sword. But where is the proof regarding allegations that President Obama knew and approved it?

Granted I feel it was a waste of money, but so is the war in Iraq. IMO. The End.

Yeah. It's a military jet. That's standard on most military vehicles and uniforms. It symbolizes that the US is always moving forward, always advancing, never retreating (The backwards flag is as if it were attached to a mast, and the gust from moving forward has pushed it around to the other side)

Edit: I forgot I have one in my avatar. Lol.

Mmmmmm. Nope. Just like on a soldier's uniform, the "union" portion is supposed to face "forward." (Towards battle.)

Note that on military uniforms, the flag patch is displayed with the stars facing forward, in the direction the wearer is facing. This is done to give the impression of the flag flowing in the wind while being carried forward across the battlefield. This is known as the 'Reverse Field Flag'.

Caldera was the easiest person to throw under the bus. I read the report and although it gives blow by blow of the official approval process (there seems to be some vaguesness about how low the plane would be flying) nothing in that report provides anything we didn't know before except for maybe a few names.

There is no explanation for what the original "mission" was, nor why they needed this photo mission on a monday rather than non-work day. The report certainly doesn't explain why it was necessary to fly low into lower manhattan and around the goldman sachs building. i can see why the higher ups approved it. it sounded like a high flyover, no big deal, and that people would be notified as needed. and yet there was a clear effort to keep it secret (no explanation of who decided this and why) or who devised the actual flight plan. of course the report says they are only talking about the white house involvement, the air force decided the rest but please. why would the air force suddenly decide to do something like that.

way too much is left out of this report. the photo released could have been as easily photoshopped. the media is accepting this as geewhiz another rookie mistake, no real harm done.

too much left out. not that i expected anything else but at least now we have our latest example of transparency NOT!

so I just saw on CNN the fuel for one of the jets cost 35k or somthing to that nature, maybe it was for both planes?

ok so add in a team of vastly overpaid crew and I guess photographers... and I am wondering where that third 100k was spent? I know its just a estimate on how much it cost, but it came from the AF did it not?

My gut feeling is this guy resigns and they release a few photos and hope this blows over...wich it will. Sickening makes one want to start rioting if you ask me. Please keep on wasting my tax money, I dare you.

Why does everyone get so pissed off when taxes are used for something like this?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

THOSE BASTARDS USED MY MONEY TO TAKE PICTURES OF A GOD DAMN PLANE!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

And it costed you so very, very much. Im sure your going to notice the big hit of $0.000001 off your paycheck.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

BUT ITS NOT WHAT I WANT TAXES TO BE USED FOR!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

What do you want your taxes used for? How about this - helping the poor? the hungry? the sick / ill? Wouldnt that make you feel better about where your taxes are going?

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

NO THAT WOULD BE SOCIALISM!!!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

You can't win with people today.
A country of individuals. That is the U.S.
We have universal healthcare in Canada. I enjoy the fact that if I break my arm, the province is basically saying - no worries - we got your back (and pay for it for me).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

WELL...WELL...I DONT WANT TO PAY FOR

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I got nothing, you see where I was heading.

Republicans want Obama to apologize.

Well I heard the words Obama and apologize so its the
old Illuminati turn around game.

Like Kennedy apologize for the Bay of Pigs.
Always some Illuminati power struggle to vex the president.

Osama will never apologize for 911 so why should Obama
apologize for Illuminati flyovers.

The next time AF1 flies in on official business use a telephoto
lens and it would make a better picture.
