Its not what you say,its the way that you say it:

www.youtube.com...

Excerpt from Senator Jay Rockefeller's Cyber Security Bill 773
(recently introduced into the Senate):

"(2) may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network."

Like he said in his ramble..."This is a stupid thing to say".

I dont know why people are putting up with this.

If you dont want to have threats from the internet, disconnect from the net.

Who forced power plants etc to be connected via the internet??

This guy is either a complete plonker or he has an alterior motive.

I wonder which huh (Sarcasm)

Considering all the information that has come out about the Rockefeller family history, I can see why he'd want to pull the plug.

It's too late, the horse has bolted, the genies out of the bottle etc.
So we should wish him good luck with that, he's going to need it.

Probably not shut it down but control it with an iron fist. It'll be like network TV versus Cable/Satellite. We will pay extra for access to the sites that interest us. The rest of the "net" will be like TV, full of commercials and network propaganda/entertainment/crap.

It is always about control. Power and control.

It's an ulterior motive IMO.

The internet is the last free bastion of freespeech, you can't say anything via TV or radio, you'll either get 'disconnected' or 'edited' , you can't put anything in the papers coz again they'll either edit it or neglect to print it.
If you print anything yourself you'd probably get arrested for inciting some sort of terrorist action or be called a domestic terrorist if you print anything derogatory against Government.
The only way they can't tell us what they want to tell us is with the internet, if they take the whole lot down ( unlikely but possible) we won't have any chance of communicating with each other unless we pay stupidly high fone rates.
If the internet is gone, all we'll have is state sponsered TV and radio, then if that happens say hello to BIG BROTHER for ever.
