Funny you said that about panic. My thoughts when I heard about it, was WTF at first - and thought someone was an idiot who didn't think about the ramifications of doing what they did. I saw pictures of people running.

THEN - I began to think about it.

What purpose did it serve, why did they have to do it in New York, besides not notify authorities and people there, it would be done?

Let's think about it.....

People have lost their "fear" over the last few years, no matter what the govt. has told us. We just don't believe them like we used to, right?

So, how to bring back that "fear" and bring people back to "hugging" the govt. and letting the govt. get away with taking our rights, like we felt right after 9/11 and allowed them to?

Perfect! Do a low fly around NYC, to have people feel the fear they once felt, bring back those memories, bring back those "we have to listen and depend on our govt to keep us safe thoughts". Do it with Air Force One - so there is no mistake on it being a "innocent" fly around. Have the authorities of NYC, running around not sure what action to take while it is happening, have chaos, etc.

They accomplished what they wanted.

Do I think it was just a stupid idiotic mistake?................ or something to get within people's heads and freak them out along with hyping a swine flu at the same time?

I think the govt. is too smart to do something sooooooo stupid!!

what makes sense to you?

Create-your-own NYC Air Force One flyover photo ... we did

Memo to the White House: Not only was flying a Presidential jet for a photo-op Monday over downtown Manhattan in bad taste – it was unnecessary.

Anyone in the White House ever hear of Photoshop?

You'd think the administration would've been tech-savvy enough to realize the merits of the computer software program – what with its constant Internet spin doctoring and the President's notorious BlackBerry infatuation.

The cost of flying one of Obama's official planes – a pimped-out Boeing 747 – along with a F-16 jet over the city cost upwards of $300,000 in taxpayer dollars.

So the White House wanted shots of the presidential plane with the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and Ground Zero?

It is apparent that there are other reasons for this maneuver. A photo just doesn't work...

I'm sorry but if I looked up and saw Air Force One flying low with an F-16 escort, the very last thing to enter my mind would be 'Terrorist attack!'

There is no better secured aircraft than Air Force One in the entire world.
