Sorry man, that doesn't sell papers or make for good ratings. People want shock, gore, awe. People want to witness others' horror stories so that they feel better about their own lives. I dunno, maybe it's a security blanket?

At any rate, it's the MSM that has no problem being the bearer of bad news for these people. But it's the people who give the MSM their ratings and buy their papers!
