Sorry, those numbers are from Nielsen:

March 31, 2009
FOX News Channel's (FNC's) The O'Reilly Factor has marked a major milestone this month as the program has been number one in cable news for 100 consecutive months, according to Nielsen Media Research.

The O'Reilly Factorled all programs with an average of 3,434,000 viewers in March, commanding the 8PM time slot and beat all the competition combined in that hour. The program posted a 29% year to year growth in viewership and a 43% increase in the 25-54 demo with an average of 755,000. For the First Quarter in 2009, the program again beat all other cable news shows combined in that hour, dominating with 3,387,000 viewers, up 27% over last year. In the 25-54 demo, The O'Reilly Factor averaged 727,000, up 36% over 2008. The repeat hour of The O'Reilly Factor averaged 1,394,000, up 20% over last year, with an average of 452,000 (up 18%) in the 25-54 demo.

You know as well as I do that I could just as easily gone to the Nielsen site to get the very same info. And so could've you.

And you jump on this like it is some kind of big deal? Overreacting a bit, aren't we?

Well....I refuse to rise to the 'bait'....

THIS is about Rush Limbaugh.

'Limbaugh' is a 'Bloviating Bouncing Bag of Blubber'.....the exact title of a Thread I once started.

I got some heat from the choice of the word 'blubber'....inferring that I meant it as a disparaging remark about his weight.

Well, my interpretation of 'blubber' also means to 'babble incoherently'....

So....since this is still about Rush Limbaugh. I tnk he is an extreme hyprocrite who has bampoozled his 'handlers' and has conived his way into a lucratrive 'Contract''''

What 'bait'? Just admit you're wrong by implying that O'Reilly and Fox News made up those numbers, as you did.

And you opinion of Rush Limbaugh is nothing more than that - your opinion.

His contract is a result of the fact that he is able to draw in lucrative advertising dollars. You cannot dispute that- the facts speak for themself. He is a shrewd businessman.

He bashes both parties with equal abandon. He was no big fan of McCain.

I think its funny, the people who dislike Rush spew even more hate then he does, but their hate is ok because he disagrees with them. All sides have valid points and if you only listen to one side you will never understand the truth.

the difference is Rush hates groups of people for no reason other than they are different

I hate rush limbaugh because of that reason.

I have a reason.

He does not.

You have an excuse, not a reason for your hatred.

You have no proof that Rush dislikes, much less hates, those who are 'different'.

And you have no idea what his 'reasons' are for his feelings, whatever they may be.

becky.....

Michael J Fox is out promoting a new book.

As you may or may not know, he is a victim of Parkinson's Disease.

It is not well understood....it has affected other famous people, notably another actor, Katherine Hepburn.

I'll tell you what clinched it for me, the time that Rush Limbaugh lost ALL credibility, was his mockery of Mr. Fox.

He, (Limbaugh) had already made fun of Chelsea Clinton, as a teenager....comparing her to being a 'dog'.

There is a well-known adage, 'three time's the charm!'....or, better yet...'Three Strikes, yer out!'

Along with the Michael J Fox perversion, and the school-yard bully adolescent slap at Chelsea Clinton, his hyprocrisy about drug usage....well, that's only three things, but those three things are big enough to, in normal circles, to have brought him down. But, glib blubbering buffoonery that he is.....he can bamboozle as well.

BTW...I had to mention Mr. Fox only because the deep shame that Rush Limbaugh SHOULD feel is not apparent. He, Limbaugh, is consistently unapologetic. He is a blight on the landscape of America.

Compared to Mr. Fox, who shows a great strength of character. He actually is trying to help, not only himself, but others who suffer his condition.

Truly, THAT is what matters. Limbaugh makes hundreds of milliions of dollars, but has no soul......

The bottom line is that mush loosebowels contributes nothing positive to society... he is a big fat leech sucking off of the social and political insecurities and fears rampant on the right.

None of the talk radio (and TV) blah blah blah's really contribute anything but opinionated noise and this is true of both the left ones and the right ones.

I don't listen to or watch any of them.

More reasons we listen....Rush quotes from 4/7/09

I used to have a special thread for this right here in Above Politics but a moderator moved it to BTS effectively killing the thread. I never got a reason for the move.

"I'm going to tell you who Obama is in world history: Neville Chamberlain. Neville Chamberlain was as popular as Obama when he got back from visiting Hitler."

"Obama's saying that we need to get rid of our nuke weapons because we're the only nation that has ever used them. I bet Putin is looking at Medvedev saying, 'Can you believe this gift? This loco weed is trying to get rid of his nukes, and he thinks we're going to get rid of them, too!'"

"Obama actually said that the 'Islamic faith has done so much over the centuries to shape the world, including my own country.' Well, I think 9/11 did have a big shaping factor here. The Twin Towers are gone, the Pentagon had a hole in it, and 3,000 people are dead."

"You know, I'm not a pessimist, but I really have a problem with people getting false hopes about things. Like when John Edwards said if only we elect John Kerry, then Christopher Reeve will walk again. That was cruel."

"I don't care a rat's rear end what people think of me. It's amazingly liberating, but it's not the easiest thing in the world to master."

Yesterday a self declared Republican and veteran took on mush loosebowels on his blah blah blah show:

Cathy Talbot tipped us off to an on-air smackdown that transpired today between Rush Limbaugh and one of his callers, who criticized the talk radio host for hurting the Republican party's fortunes and supporting the practice of torture. The caller, Charles, identified himself as a Republican and a veteran, who "really didn't want to see Obama get in office." From there, he let loose, especially on the torture issue, telling Limbaugh, "We're not supposed to be torturing these people. This is not Nazi Germany, Red China, or North Korea." He then added, "I hate to say it...but I think you're a brainwashed Nazi."

This did not go over well, at all! Limbaugh shot back with a brainwashing accusation of his own, and blamed Charles and people like him for Obama winning the election. "I didn't vote for him," Charles protested, "I voted for McCain. I voted Republican." No matter. Rush signed off by saying, "Charles, Barack Obama is president of the United States today because of stupid, ignorant people who think like you do. You pose -- you and your ignorance are the most expensive commodity this country has."

Media Matters has the audio, so, judge for yourself:

mediamatters.org...

His response is typical for that big fat self absorbed ass... he's incapable of facing criticism and does his best to turn the tables...

At least that man served his country which is far more that can be said for mushbowels who seems to think that his opinion is the only one that matters.

i heard about this but didnt have a link.

Thank you so very much for that update, grover.
It's hilarious to watch Rush Limbaugh switch gears like that, and kudos to the caller for easily evading the call screening.

Perhaps you should consider the content of your post. It was quotes from a radio show by you, with no opinion attached.

All you were doing is copy/pasting from Rush's website so that people here have easier access to the Nazi propaganda.

That's why it got moved to BTS, because that's where that particular type of content belongs. I'm not even a moderator and i know that...cmon...

Reasons we listen Rush quotes 4/8/09

I used to have a special thread for this right here in Above Politics but a moderator moved it to BTS effectively killing the thread. I never got a reason for the move.

"Fidel Castro wants Barack Obama to succeed. Fidel Castro wanted George Bush to fail. What does that tell you?"

"The Drive-Bys are not reporting on the tea parties now, and they're not going to report on them as they happen. They just fly in the face of the notion the Drive-Bys put forth that this is a country in unified enthrallment of the Obama administration."

"The Somali pirates, who we haven't heard from in a while, have hijacked a ship and have American hostages. Is this 1979 all over again? Less than 100 days in?"

"The Somalis are hijacking ships, the Iranians are taking time out from building their nuclear weapons to file death penalty charges against Americans, the North Koreans are firing off missiles, and what's Barack Obama worried about? Islamic sensibilities."

I was visiting my 93 year old mother in her limited care facility last weekend. She out of the blue stated that she "just doesn't like that Rush Limbaugh!"

I said, "really, Mom, I thought you were a conservative."

She said "I am but Rush says he hopes Obama (pronounced like Alabama) doesn't succeed."

Mom isn't nearly as sharp as she used to be so I had to explain to her that Rush has repeatedly stated that he wants the best for everyone and the country. Obama is a radical socialist and if he gets his way everyone will suffer in terms of our freedoms and our economy. So I agreed that we should all be working to stop the Obama agenda if we can like Rush said.

Mom said she hadn't thought of it that way!

Many Americans are in a similar situation, they haven't considered what will happen if Obama, Pelosi and Reid are not stopped.

T. H. White did not say that... it is attributed to George Orwell.

T. H. White was a profoundly repressed homosexual sadist and the writer of one of the most humane books in English literature. "The Once an Future King"... but he had nothing to do with physics.

And how much moral outrage did you have when the press was raking Sarah Palin's daughter over the coals? I guess that was OK, huh?

And what about Biden's daugther? Her motto is "Party-Hearty!", but you aren't seeing too much about that in the MSM.

The big difference is that those of us on the left don't hang on (or often even pay attention) to our talking heads and radio shows...

... you ditto heads seem to hang on mushes every word and accept it as gospel without question no matter how accurate or how fictional it is.

Yet you seem to be up to speed with every word that comes out of Limbaugh's mouth, grover.

I think you're a closet dittohead.
