So I was browsing around the google ocean floor program after reading that Atlantis thread and came across two holes that when measured are about 5-6 miles across. They do not appear to be shadows of elevated land. They almost look like craters/volcanoes...opinions?

Most likely underwater volcano or sink holes. Gotta love all the google earth goodness. It's fun to tour the globe virtually.

Looks like a seabed caldera between the Azores and Cape Verde Islands. Good find. Worth a future exploration of the seabed.

Incidentally I switched from version 4.2 to 5.0 and can't figure how to get a slant view of the terrain anymore any tips please ?

If you hold the right mouse button down you can get what ever angle you are trying to get.

Seems alot of threads all at once, about Google ocean floor.
Let me tell you that they are images, that have been reviewed and altered before being published by the government.
Everything Google does they ask the governments approval first.
Unless you got raw data and images from some oceanography institute you can consider it unrealistic.
Google earth sky sea its all just a gimic and a game.

What if they were just images of the ocean floor? That's what it looks like to me. Giant holes in the ocean floor? Sure why not? Interesting picture.

Here's proof there's no holes in the ocean floor:

All the water is still there

LOL prove it?
Go and measure the water and proof it didn't leak in the holes.

ahhahaha.. That's great. I dare anyone to prove that the water was not drained out by the holes.. Or someone tell me exactly how did Hawaii appear atop the ocean floor without coming out through a hole.

In case you're serious... it was a joke, smart guy

But just in case you were serious, I took the liberty of measuring the water level of the Pacific. Same depth!

Prove that I didnt
