I never thought Australia would end up like this. It's the last country I would imagine that lays down and takes this kind of stuff.

If they can overrun those spirited folk the other side of the planet so easily, what hope have us queueing apologizing tea drinkers got?

Not sure about this, and I live in Australia. I think we can still buy WOW here if we wanted to, hell, we can buy anything else here with no problems. Kids under 15 can easily buy games marked for MA15+ (Mature Adult 15 years and older) without anyone checking their age first! As happens with kids hiring DVD movies, etc.. no one checks.

What I do know, is, our government had just began trials of an ISP level Filter, to replace the free government sponsored PC level filter from our previous Howard government.

This will include P2P Filtering. We do know the government will prevent us seeing anything they deem not suitable for us. Censorship is what this is, and I can almost guarantee we will not be able to get info we need from the net that is designed to awaken us to what is really happening in the world.

Links....

publicpolity.wordpress.com...

news.bbc.co.uk...

www.smh.com.au...

apcmag.com...

Ratings are decided in country by our Censorship Board, all of who were sacked just after the '96 elections and where replaced with government "yes" people.

This was the same year we had a farce mass shooting which immediately led to bans on firearms and the buy-back scheme that netted over 600,000 firearms. Yes, we have been disarmed, except for criminals, and gangs, etc.

Yes, it was a farce, do the research and you will discover this for fact, for yourself. Add that the then government immediately enacted a 30 year maratorium ban on the subject and you get my drift here.

Why Australians won't stand up and fight for our rights........

We have grown up with a mind-set of "She'll be right mate", which leads us to Apathy. Most people here still believe our government would not do anything to harm us. We are blind!

When I talk to my countrymen about standing up in unison, they respond with looks of fear because they know I am talking Revolution. They do not want any part of it as they have been comforted too much into only thinking about themlseves, believing everything we get in what I call the televised "Not the News".

No matter what some may try to do, most will not support change, real change. I am aware, most are not and refuse to even consider anything besides their percpetions of how the world is.

We bend over and happily accept U.S. Military bases on our soil that even our top politicians are not able to enter. It has been known for many years that these bases are first strike targets from the old Soviet Union. We can thank our "friends" for endangering us this way, as much as we can thank ourselves for allowing it.

Lastly, please consider that many things are trialed overseas before they are used in other countries, here are four such things.....

GST, Goods and Services Tax. We were forced into using the Irish Model even though we voted NO to it, which was trialed there first hence the name, followed by New Zealand where it created large numbers of hidden homeless, then we got it in the late 90's. It has added billions to the government coffers, which is used to fund our increased Military spending and supporting our troops overseas, instead of fixing our ailing health and education systems.

Gun Laws. Forced here in order to see how it went, before you in the U.S. are faced with similar action... check it out, look for the new legislation being tabled in your government right now.

Workplace Agreements/Contracts. Again we voted NO to having this, but once again when the Howard government came to power they ignored us and did what their agenda required. This legislation disempowered Unions and forced us all into group agreements and contracts that seriously stopped any discussions on wages and rights. Most rights were supposed to be written into law, but were not, on the whole. Our new government promised to remove these laws, but have done nothing.

Smart Cards. Again we voted NO to having smart cards pushed on us. But now, we are being fed this nasty little things by force through a variety of avenues. If you receive a government pension or other assistance, this year you will be issued with one, like it or not.

For many years some of us have spoken about Big Brother coming soon. Few know it has been with us for a very long time already, is firmly entrenched and will be finalised over the coming few years. It is no different to what you are experiencing under different timeframes for agendas.

Good luck all, you're going to need it.

Hey Tayesin, did't they just build a really big New Parliment building there, this what I heard, and the people were saying we don't have enough Government to fill building, why is it so big?

There's talk of them planning to try and pull that gun violence thing here in US, to try and scare everyone in to giving up guns, false flag op.

They are becoming a world power by stopping a video game? I didnt think it was that easy.

Yes they might, things like WoW could prevent a nation from becoming a world power.

But I've seen plenty of sick people in this game, a male and a female character would find a secluded spot somewhere in Outlands, then they strip to their undies and simulate the act of sex. it's sick!

Nevertheless, I catch them naked and dispatch them quickly(without any armor they die pretty quick obviously). I'm a rogue so they don't see me coming.

Maybe they are trying too piss off the younger demographics so that they react in a way to implement even more laws.

As much as I hate that excuse for a game. This is just wrong.
Considering all I play atm is Call of Duty WaW i can feel for anyone who now cant play. Gotta love those bolt action rifles.

Could be a move by the government to get all the bums to stop playing games and get a job and help the economy instead of taking from it.

Wow, Australia has been really screw up lately.

First they can't download torrents.

Then their bandwidth gets cut.

Then they block all porn.

Now they're taking the gaming industry down.

That's what I call a dictatorship. They're not prioritizing their policies correctly and are making unnecessary and absurd laws.

Poor Australians... come to the U.S. =D.

peace is found inside not without. THey could put me in prison for believing the truth, yet I would stay content and mentally strong and awake, because my heart and soul are in tune with the known, not the desired.

If Australia wants freedom, and things continue to slide this way, remember that. Contentness pisses off the captors. But we can all peg the captors, in fact its an odd tv show sync, for those who watch sci fi channle, remember "The Triangle"? Well this research team investigating the Bermuda triangle get sucked into a wave of time changes emeanated by a machine that is amplifying and reversing the wave, which is threatening the world.

ANyway, in a dimension jump, they walk into a wave and soon it seems like a fascist dictatorship, When the australian researcher speaks, the american guard on the sidewalk corners them with guns drawn, soon after that another time wave comes and corrects the dimension again returning them back to normal space.

Its an interesting sync with reality if australia becomes a dictatorship. Dictators are always delusional madmen angry over a contrived emotion they could forgive themselves for, but dont. Grow up slave driving a33holes, your nothing to me, the ultimate non dictator.

Laws are laws, if a nation sets up laws based on experts and not based on other nations, it will succeed in becoming a world super power, having major influence (my opinion). Australia is already seeking a seat in the security council.

First off, who are these experts you are alluding too? The government? I dont care which government we are talking of, Aus, US, Mexico, Russia, any. I dont trust them. Absolute power corrupts absolutly. This is what I am seeing world wide, not just for those down under. Its about the government taking your rights and freedoms away. Personally, Ive never played WoW, Im not a gamer and personally dont really care if people play it. However, if someone wants to, why shouldnt they have that right? Its just a game, isnt it?

If Aus becomes a super power, fine, so be it, could think of worse nations that could hold that title. But at what cost are they willing to pay to hold that honor? Strip the freedoms from the people completely, tax them into oblivion, sell out their national pride?

This is just about a video game, but once the government starts to mandate little things like this, you know the storm isnt far behind.

Yes, we did get a new building, big, ultra modern, ugly, unecessary thing it was too in my opinion. The previous building was perfectly serviceable, but the government of the time (John Howard, Bush's friend, and the Liberals) did what they wanted anyway.. nothing new there.

I agree that none of the larger shootings in the U.S. seem to put anyone off the idea of guns for all if you want them. But let's wait and see what happens with legislation there. It didn't really put most people off guns here, but within a day the government told us they were banning them to prevent things like that happening again.

In New Zealand they had laws which didn't really restrict people buying firearms, although semi-autos were out. Hunters still get shot a lot there, lol. They had a shooting at Aramoana that wiped out a family and scared a lot of people so they called for bans, etc. In conversations I mentioned that anyone could just as easily kill their family with knives and timber, as they could with a gun.

Three weeks later an old grandpa took out his entire family with lumps of wood and a knife!! If you are going to kill people you don't need a gun to do it, they just make it easier.

Guns don't kill people, they are only a lump of steel and wood or plastic. People on the other hand will kill people, with anything they can.

Every field has experts. Politicians are the decision makers, they are leaders, that is why they take advice from economists hence economists are experts.

Once again the issue of freedom comes in to play, yet again no one can draw the line with freedom and complete freedom. That's the problem, 'freedom' just like 'terrorism' is a word of propaganda. They have no bases and are used to manipulate people, funnily people are so easily manipulated. You hear everyone claiming that they are taking our freedom away when they don't know what freedom is and what it means to be free, how free, what level of freedom etc etc.

we can have guns, u just need a license. im 14 and have a junior permit.
but i had to take a test, wait a month b4 i get my license and i obviously cant buy anything but i can use em. we are gettin screwed over tho, evrytime anything commercial comes up they ban anything to do with it.
for instance, a guy went phsyco here with a 12 or 20 gauge pump action shotty. so they banned pump action shot guns. but they didnt ban pump action rifles?!?!?!? go figure, i would much rather be runnin from a shotty then a rifle. then they ban GTA, now WOW?!?! i play wow and this sucks.
another thing that pisses me off is that we cant use ladders on non privet property, and we need a permit to camp at camping sites...

It hasn't been banned and is still for sale.

This is viral internet rumourmongering, thats all.

The Australian government has changed its laws on certification to catch up with MMORPG's, thats all.

The game is still for sale, and playable in Australia. A simple google search can confirm that.

I just want to clear up a few misconceptions here:

1. Neforemore was right about the reclassification of World of Warcraft games here in Australia. It was just a little confusion is all. I played World of Warcraft tonight, as I have done every night (well...not EVERY night) for the last 2 years.

2. The government PROPOSED the new ISP filters which would slow down internet traffic and block P2P. I have two things to say about this:

a) If Kevin Rudd knows whats good for him, and wishes to be re-elected he will drop this right now. The Aussie public will not stand for it.

b) The P2P block is easy to get around by enabling the encryption protocol on the torrent downloading software. The other filters can be gotten around simply by using proxy sites. This PROPOSED filter is useless.

Parliment house was built back in the 80's, it replaced the old parl house less than a block away. Talking with people that work there every room is full although they are very large offices and could accomidate more people. There are rumours of tunnels conecting the two buildings and a very far out rumour that theres an underground light rail system which heads to our snowy mountains a couple of hours away. Ive also heard rumours of the Deacon Exchange (located in Canberra) which stores the western worlds info. Im mainly interested in the role that Australia/Canberra will play in the next 20 years and have begun focussing on Tidbinbilla Tracking station, Pine Gap, Deacon Exchange, Russel offices (a surveilance complex in Canberra). If anyone has more info on these subjects im all ears.
P.S i am slowly sifting through all info on this site but would appreciate more

I bet you haven't seen Wrath of the Lich King yet!

The game will only suck your life away if you let it. I was in a raiding guild for 6 momnths, raiding every Wed, Fri and Sat nights and I still had a life. You just have to find the balance.

And it is being sold, it was a stupid viral internet rumour.
