I have seen the fundies promoting Obama as a candidate for Anti-Christ. I have seen the talking heads level charges against him as being socialist or
even communist.
For anyone who has their butt up on their shoulders over this, I have a couple of questions for you.
On the day before 9/11, Rumsfeld went before a congressional committee whose biggest concern at the time was what happened to over 3 trillion
dollars that disappeared into the DoD? The next day, the entire issue disappeared, never to be raised again by the media or the congress.
That was American taxpayer money. Money produced by people who produce goods and services.
Remember the cartoonish King Leonidas in the film 300, who smugly explained that his small band of Spartans brought more to the fight than the larger
force comprised of citizen soldiers who held day jobs? Funny how you never hear the rest of the story. If Leonidas' men were professional soldiers,
and that was all they did, then whence came their garments, their earthenware, jewelry, currency, tools? Other people. People who were actually
producing. Did you know that the Spartans were so parasitic that they had to continually intensify their martial expression of life, to the point
where they were outnumbered by slaves in their own lands, and were able to keep them in line (for a time) with their sheer brutality and fear tactics?
This is an ideal?
And what about the recent bailouts on Wall Street. Can anyone tell me where the bad debt went?
Look, you can cry all you want about "redistribution of wealth", but if you don't care about the trillions that have disappeared into the revolving
door circus of the Pentagon, administrative agencies, and contractors, then you are, frankly, a hypocrite.
