SHAMEFUL ! BBC refuses GAZA relief demands broadcasT

I agree with the BBC's stand on this issue.

Shameful would be for them to insinuate that they support one side over the other by showing these adverts.

The hoopla regarding the appeals gives the charity all the press they need anyway.


The press should never take sides.

When obvious human misery is at pace, political arguments look like lack of common sense ...

"See nothing, say nothing, hear nothing" ... this is really and definitively NOT a civilized behaviour. It's purely a shame.

If you take the view that making a charitable appeal on the BBC for Gaza is a partial act then that means you believe that such information makes Israel look bad.

How is that fault of the wounded and the dying?

We have always had all kinds of appeal on the BBC for the Tsunami Fund, to earth quake relief, Ethiopian Famine Relief and Darfur.

Very odd indeed. Perhaps we need to look at exactly who mans the BBC board of governors and their potential connections to Israel?

I also think this is absolutely shameful.

They wouldn't be taking sides in an effort to increase donations to help the PEOPLE OF GAZA. This has bugger all to do with Hamas or Israel.

I am actually really surprised they've decided to do this.
And believe many of those working for the BBC feel the same.

I saw one of the presenters talking to someone on news 24 yesterday about the decision, and she was clearly a little angry with them.

While they didn't do a bad job of covering the attack on Gaza impartially, this isn't about the attack itself, it is about those hurt by it.

There is no side to take on the issue of aid. Israel killed and maimed thousands of people, they destroyed the infrastructure in Gaza. To state so would be fact. But even though this is fact that we know to be true, it doesn't even need to be mentioned in the request for donations.

BBC = weak
Brit government = even weaker.
International leaders = pathetic

It seems the only people telling the truth, being responsible and being open about their views are the UN, Red Cross and Human Rights Watch.
